Just another piece of the ongoing civil war. I just heard this story on the ABC news. Evidently almost all the bakers are Shia, and they're being targeted by the insurgency. Madness.

more likely just another ploy to increase civil unrest. Iraqis buy their bread from the markets on a daily basis. Closing bakeries will be a big hit to them in their everyday life.
