WP: Bush Ducking Out of Easter Egg Hunt
Gay families plan to attend this year. The NYT reported on the 10th that the event would
"probably {feature} an appearance by the president".

Cold feet-

The annual Easter Egg Roll was being held on the grounds the next day. Mrs. Bush was making an appearance but the president was not. He scheduled an event on taxes in Sterling, Va.

1. It wasn't a gay issue conflict as reported, but a strategic consideration.
The president now says he got bad intelligence on the location of the hidden eggs.

They encouragingly told him he'd find one for sure. "It's a slam-dunk, Mr. President," one staffer offered.

But the president declined to participate.

9. LOL! Rumsfeld would probably suggest just that.
It could also be that Dubya couldn't compete with the little kids in finding the eggs.

I'm hoping for a real blue November and then a torrent of subpoena's documents leading up to impeachment proceedings and a landslide Democratic win in 2008.

How does that sound?

And in the meantime, can I pour you a drink, too?

16. Good grief what a nasty puss on him.
He's probably in a major snit because it's starting to dawn on him that things are NOT going his way.

20. Fairly common
for them not to attend is what I have heard. I think it is more unusal for them to attend because most of them have hated the whole event. I have no proof of this because it's hearsay from the 'news' covering each year's event.

3. So. Dubya flees Crawford because he's afraid of Cindy Sheehan.
Now he's ducking out of the Easter egg hunt because he's afraid to be seen with gays and lesbians.

What a wuss.

8. Soon, he'll run out of places to cower. Despicable pig.
At this rate, his habit of hiding from everyone who doesn't fit the typical GOP definition of "good" is going to become more and more exhasuting for his feeble little brain.

You can run, douchebag, but you can't hide forever.

17. He's "on the run"..they're "hunting him down"
He can't go to his beloved Crawford because of the pesky protestors, and he can;t even have his little egg hunt because those pecky gay families have "infiltrated" his litlle to-do... I love it !!

He's a hunted man..unable to go anywhere now except Camp David..:)
