German man sues the Easter Bunny

April 12 2006 at 09:23PM
Berlin - A German man is suing the Easter Bunny for grievous bodily harm.

Karl-Friedrich Lentze, from Berlin, has filed a complaint with prosecutors, accusing the Easter Bunny of causing addiction to chocolate which contributes to heart attacks, obesity and strokes.

According to Lentze, "The Easter Bunny is a sadistic and unscrupulous offender who preys on people's sweet tooth.

"Find this evil bunny, handcuff his paws and remove him from shops in time for Easter."

Christian Avenarius, a public prosecutor spokesperson, said: "We will act upon the complaint with speed and diligence." - Ananova.com

5. See, if this happened in America, it would be a conservative
Christian sueing the Easter bunny for its war on Easter. Because the Easter bunny is stealing the Christian meaning of Easter, just like Christianity stole the meaning of the Pagan holidays.

And if they win, next it will be a war on Santa Claus.

I say we turn the tables on them now and next Christmas, we should be ready for the Christian right. When they come and say that there's a war on Christmas, we should tell them it's them that have a beef with Santa Claus.

8. stealing the Christian meaning of Easter........
Have you heard the ultimate in infuriatingly arrogant "logic" on this one? CS Lewis seems to have either come up with it or been the one to popularize it--apparently (let me go ahead and drip some :sarcasm: right now so you can hear my lovely tone of voice on this one) the PAGANS--meaning everyone pre-Christianity, could SEE THE REAL MESSIAH, like, dimly, in the future, I guess, and the bits of their myths that SEEM TO BE STOLEN BY CHRISTIANITY were really just their "prophesying" the TRUTH THAT WAS YET TO COME!

So the pagans stole the sun-god thing, virgin birth thing, etc--by precognition! Or time travel, however you want to look at it...

:argh: :nuke: (head plus desktop)

I'm not making this up. I'd find a link but I'm not sure how one would search for that. I thought it was in an article discussing the relationship between Tolkien and Lewis, but I read so much there's no telling where it came from all in all.
