"If I offend you get out of my country"

And other fine products from CafePress. Even if you oppose amnesty, even recognizing that jobs are at risk, can we blame the corporations NOT the desperate people? There was only ONE design of all those shirts I saw that blamed the corporations. Only one.

1. You'd probably find someone who can't even write a decent
sentence wearing that shirt. I just love the way people who can barely speak the language themselves use this against foreigners.

2. It was Juan
Ponce de Leon who arrived in my home state in the 1500s and named it Florida because of all the flowers. Florida did not join the United States until three centuries later.

3. I don't get it
This cafe press seems to have shirts for both 'sides' of the issue. including ones supporting the horrible racist 'minuteman' groups. Why would anyone, on either side, buy a shirt from these assholes? Can there be more blatant opportunism? Or am I missing something?

4. My Ancestors
One branch was legal and the other brand illegal.

My Italian great-great grandfather came from Italy. Did not speak English and barely ever did. But he did speak a universal language - MONEY. That served him well until his children grew up being Bilingual and running his business.

My Irish great-great grandfather was an Irish Catholic from Belfast. Yes, he was English speaking. He was a skilled Ironworker who was smuggled aboard a ship to work the West Point Foundry, along with many other Irish Catholic workers from Northern Ireland. The owner of the Foundry went to Belfast himself to get workers. From what I have learned, the Foundry owner built homes, churches, and a school for the immigrants children. My great-grandfather (born on US soil) was schooled at the Foundry school (I have records) until he was 16 (mandatory for Foundry children and rare in those times) and he then enlisted in the Civil War.

I am the product of both legal and illegal, foreign and English speaking, immigrants. All of which, is what has made America the great nation she is.
