Pakistan-China nuclear deal in the offing?
Islamabad, April 10 : A civil nuclear technology deal between Pakistan and China may be signed during President Pervez Musharraf's visit to Beijing in June to counter the Indo-US nuclear agreement, the Daily Times reported Monday. Pakistan has protested against the Indo-US deal and has also sought a similar deal. But the US has rejected the demand, saying that India and Pakistan were "two different cases".

MIR ALI, Pakistan – Pro-Taliban militants on Monday offered talks with the Pakistani government to end a stand-off between armed tribesmen and security forces following a series of fierce clashes near the Afghan border.
Chants of 'Long live Islam', 'Long Live Jihad' and 'Down with the USA' rang out at a jirga, or tribal council, attended by around 10,000 tribesmen in Mir Ali, a town in the semi-autonomous North Waziristan border region.
