If Bush wanted us to "see the truth" why not just have a press conference?
Here is his statement from yesterday:

...."After we liberated Iraq, there was questions in people's minds about the basis on which I made statements, in other words, going into Iraq," Bush said at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), in Washington. "So I decided to declassify the NIE for a reason. I wanted people to see what some of those statements were based on. I wanted people to see the truth and thought it made sense for people to see the truth. And that's why I declassified the document."

so, if he wanted us to know this information, why did he have Libby "leak" it? Why not just show it to the country all at once?

WHY ISN'T ANYONE ASKING HIM THIS????

:banghead:

1. Iraq has been liberated? Are we sure? Doesn't seem like it.
Oh, I see the source was Bush. That explains it. ANOTHER LIE.

Your question is a good one, maybe someone from the media will become an American and ask it.

2. A caller in Stephanie Miller's show mentioned it this morning
The press can't sit by and take this "I wanted the info out so I leaked it" crap.

4. Exactly. They wanted us to see their version of the truth.
He DID NOT declassify the entire document, but only the parts that supported his claims about Iraq. The declassification was done for political purposes, to persuade the American people we must invade Iraq. Furthermore, the declassification was kept secret and Bushco went to extraordinary means to keep it that way. Judith Miller spent time in jail and Libby has been indicted because of it.

5. That's what's so depressing. It's such a natural question. A common-sense
logical question. And the press studiously avoids asking it. Hopefully every person sitting in their living room watching this farce will have it occur to them, and finally come to the conclusion that they are being had. By both this administration and their fan club of TV pundits and news anchors.

6. Didn't he have something published about his Social Security scam
I mean, plan? He didn't leak that--he presented it to the public AND the media in a open and official way. Why did he need to give the impression that the Iraq info wasn't meant to be public knowledge--TO USE IT AS A WEAPON?

8. He would just lie more and we are getting lie fatigue
I mean, you don't even begin to imagine that he or anyone in earshot believes that crap?

He's just 'trying out a line' to see if it'll float. It don't mean nothing. Later he
will have some other f'd up excuse.

Its just all bullsh*t so thick not even the bullsh*tters pretend to believe it.
