1. It says "the Day America died"
and says Bush's , what falls to earth is the ideal of "freedom"

the top bar does say "Abandoned America"

4. And no one around me will listen to what I say about this, they just raise
an eyebrow and give me that bush* caught in the camera lights look, like it's not on the news. Don't want to believe it is really true.

8. Newsweek
Maybe this is Newsweek's only opportunity to speak their mind. They'd be carted off to jail stat for running that cover in this country.

I don't think a Japanese Newsweek cover is the real issue here.

On edit: How about a little peep into Rick Adams's sex life:

14. Interesting that this story first appeared..
right after Newsweek published the story about Marines flushing a Koran down a toilet.

It looks like there was a concerted campaign by bloggers to try and discredit Newsweek to their dittohead readers.

15. And doubly interesting that it's April 11, 2006...
I.e, this is not, uh, news.

Check out that guy's other blog entries: One tries to refute the claim that the NSA is illegally spying on Americans, and another is all about the "forgeries" that Dan Rather and CBS got in trouble for. Naturally, Mr. Rick Adams is pro-spying and anti-Dan Rather.

And of course, he REALLY likes animated Japanese porn fetishizing underage girls, aka "manga."

10. Sad... but we've known all along.
The world now looks with pity and horror at the isolated "fortress America". It's enough to make me consider moving out.

13. I can only find references to this..
on right wing blogs, and, of course, they used it to foam at the mouth about the America-hating liberal media.

I don't believe that it's genuine.
