Could there possibly be a 'military coup' in this nation's future?
My sister and I were discussing this very thing last evening. Left me wondering (and hoping) that this is something that the 'top brass' might be talking about behind closed doors. Clear out the top level - frog-march them all into prison - or at the very least - into oblivion.

2. Don't need the military...
if you use corporations to slowly grind down the populous. They don't want or need us in camps. They just want us to shut up and be good little serfs. And so far this country is doing a fair job of complying.

3. I could believe covert actions by top military brass
to undermine bush and cheney and rumsfeld most likely are underway. I do not believe it will be a coup in the sense that the military does not want to take over the government they just want it put back into competent hands. The retiree brass are already grumbling and I would not doubt rumsfeld is getting cuffed about by the guys with the Stars right now behind closed doors. He is in no position to force any uniformed General or Admiral to retire. The negative pub would be overwhelming. I sure hope their bed is comfortable.

4. Against Bush? Nah.

I don't suspect there is anything like that going on behind closed doors, only support for Bushco that involves a revolving door to fat corporate jobs in the military-industrial complex.

Maybe if they were worried about Bush screwing that whole system up, but that strains my imagination.

6. What a time to be alive
Having to defend agencies such as the CIA and NSA. Laws were broken! Don't worry that giant secret government agencies kill and spy on humans around the globe...we need to defend the law that they use to do it!

Hoping for a military freakin' coup.

Makes some wonder what it's all for.

8. Read
In 1992, General Colin Powell, chairman of the joint chiefs, awarded the prize for his strategy essay competition at the National Defence University to Lieutenant Colonel Charles Dunlap for 'The Origins of the American Military Coup of 2012.' His cautionary tale imagined an incapable civilian government creating a vacuum that drew a competent military into a coup disastrous for democracy. The military, of course, is bound to uphold the constitution. But Dunlap wrote: "The catastrophe that occurred on our watch took place because we failed to speak out against policies we knew were wrong. It's too late for me to do any more. But it's not for you."

The Origins of the American Military Coup of 2012 is today circulating among top US military strategists.

11. Thanks for the reminder....
......I have been pondering this topic as of late.....It appears that every where I stumble I hear of a military retiree running for public office(Officer Ranks primarily)......Powells messianic theme is in stark contrast to his own real time actions...again thanks for the reminder

9. Thanks to the "private military contractors"
I doubt such a coup would succeed. The mercenaries hired with our tax dollars don't work for the people the way the real military may. They work for a paycheck which is being provided by Bushco and cronies.

Blackwater, DynCorp, etc will defend Bushco because it will give them big paychecks. They will also not hesitate to round up dissidents and put them into KBR-built 'Detention Facilities'.

I believe that if it came down to it, the majority of the military would side with the American people on this, but that's why bushco has privatized this as well. :(

12. Wishful Thinking
I don't think we'll ever see an overt mutiny
but I do believe that are more than a handful
of people with the brains heart and courage
to bring about the Bush regime's downfall.

We just need one good honest "Deep Throat"
and it is all over for Bush.
