How's this for one HELLUVA coincidence???
These two statements/announcements happened within 24 hours of each other:

President George W. Bush speaks on the Global War on Terror at The Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at The Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C., Monday, April 10, 2006. "Yesterday, our nation marked the third anniversary of a great moment in the history of freedom -- it was the liberation of Iraq. Three years ago, coalition forces entered the gates of Baghdad, fought their way into the center of the city, and helped Iraqis pull down the statue of Saddam Hussein," said President Bush. 1. I guess the measure of success (or of the opposite) would be: what was
Baghdad's ranking BEFORE the invasion....

3. Since it's been dead last for only the last three years...
...it would've HAD to have been higher before Bush's invasion.

I'll admit the item doesn't say how much higher, but what really struck me about this was that Chimpy was gloating about the third anniversary of entering "the gates of Baghdad" the same day as Baghdad was named worst place to live on earth for the third year in a row.

2. How ironic:

Zurich, where much of the purloined billions of this misbegotten war probably wind up, has a diametrically opposite quality of life than Baghdad, the source of so many ill-gotten billions.
