"Bizarro Tweety" was a guest on Leno last night
I knew it was Bizarro Tweety because he wasn't kissing Bush's ass, and lusting over a picture of The Chimperor in his flight suit.

Tweety was very serious, and spoke on matters such as outing Valerie Plame, Bush and Cheney lying to get us into Iraq, and the Fitzgerald probe into Scooter, and Iran.

I was pleasantly surprised.

One thing he made so much sense about: the ages of viewers who watch the network evening news. They tend to be older -- look at the advertising: mostly pain medication.

He thinks they won't welcome Katie Couric because these people tend to be pretty resistant to change and are of a mindset that don't particularly embrace women. Especially women news anchors.

1. I missed it, but perhaps Tweety's going for max exposure because
of this?

14. That "Senate-Run" rumor has been around for years.
He may not live in PA, but he still has that Philly accent, BIG TIME.

And his brother is running as a Pug for Lt. Gov. here in the Keystone State.

2. This statement explains all we need to know about Chris Matthews on his
show:

"He thinks they won't welcome Katie Couric because these people tend to be pretty resistant to change and are of a mindset that don't particularly embrace women. Especially women news anchors."

That would apply to Chris Matthews too. That's why he comes across like a white male neanderthal when he's on MSNBC. He's not really a conservative twit, he just plays one on t.v.

3. I don't know why he doesn't do it on his show. He seems to reserve
his toughest criticism of BushCo for other shows, like Leno or Imus, but he won't do it on his show. Yet he has no problem being extremely critical and condescending on his show about the Democrats.
:wtf:

4. Sounds like Tweets is pissed he didn't get the CBS job. Sour
Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 09:20 AM by Democrat 4 Ever
grapes, maybe? Tweets is too far gone to even consider that he might at sometime try to find a journalistic integrity gene. He sold his soul to GE, the neocons and the devil too long ago to get it back now.

Reported he is considering a run for Senator from PA - hope he does and gets his ass kicked seven ways to Sunday. To emulate Steven Corbert - "Tweety you are dead to me" for what you have done for the evil neocons and against my country. D.E.A.D. T.O. M.E.

6. Tweety is full of crap. Number 1, Katie is no spring chicken - I believe
she is 49 years old. Second, if CBS has any sense at all they are not trying to hang on to the old evening news audience but rather trying to build a new and larger audience. Having a female anchor fits into that scenario. When has Tweety been right about anything, except after the fact, when it was obvious?

11. Oh, please
I don't know if I'm an older viewer or not at 52, but I couldn't care less about who is reading the news. What I care about is what's being read and shown and HOW it's being shown. It's very easy to tilt a story by how it's presented. It's very easy to "vanish" a story simply by ignoring it. For example, the only way I know California is under a state of emergency is the mention on this site. Enough of the filler stories, there are plenty of hard news stories that are being ignored or given scant notice.

16. Was he talking about himSELF re: disrespecting women?
I'll never forget when he had his wife on his circus. She's a well regarded news person. While she was talking, Tweezer and (probably) p.o.s. BARNICLE were giggling like Catholic schoolboys. As for somebody saying above that he wanted the anchor job himself----uh, what credentials does he have for that?------he's no globetrotter like JENNINGS and RATHER-----or even Geraldo for that matter. He's a physical and moral coward. The ONE time he went overseas, he tried riding a chopper a la Whorealdo, wearing dark glasses, while they buzzed over ARAFAT's headquarters--------and Tweezer was SCARED SHITLESS. I could go on. And on.

18. Leno has a much wider audience and a different type of audience than
typically watches the political shows. If Tweety was critical of Bush on Leno, then I'm guessing that a lot of people were being exposed to Bush's crimes for the first time.

19. I was rather surprised to find out
Chris Matthews brother lives in my town. Or rather, right next to it, the towns are small in the township I live in outside of Philadelphia. It's called Oreland, in Montgomery County. I could run into tweety at a restaurant, probably will sometime, and I'm glad I gave myself a heads up cause it would've been weird to suddenly see his puffy face pop up somewhere.

20. what surprised me
was how tall Tweety is.

He towers over Leno, and poor Paula Abdul seems like an insect sitting next to him.
