Phone-Jamming Records Point to White House - ABC news
Phone Records in Court Show People in Election Phone Jamming Called White House

By LARRY MARGASAK

WASHINGTON Apr 11, 2006 (AP)— Republican officials describe the two-dozen calls to the White House around Election Day 2002 as normal conversations about a close Senate race in New Hampshire.

Democrats have suggested in a court filing that another subject was discussed: a GOP scheme that jammed phone lines to keep state Democrats from being encouraged to vote.

The phone-jamming operation has led to three federal convictions and a pending indictment. Prosecutors have not raised questions in court about the White House conversations but records of the calls were available to them as criminal court exhibits.

The records show that Republican campaign operative James Tobin, who recently was convicted in the case, made two dozen calls to the White House within a three-day period around Election Day 2002 as the jamming operation was finalized, carried out and then abruptly shut down.

They're like a blown sewer main,
that shiite keeps washing out in public,
stinking to high heaven, over and over again,
union's septic nightmare, greedy, craven, sick.

As cholera, hep C and bad water,
wash out the ranks of the coolaid-drunken clique,
hookers all paid for, corporate whore bought her,
Yo ho ho, its a pirates life for bush dick.

As the repukes steal the wallpaper,
and the floorboards whilst gifting golden roofs to the rich,
will anyone arrest that gang of vandalous currs,
Or the shredded great house very weak.. what a bitch.

Republican thug booted ruffian cavortors,
Noah's voting machine, parting God's voters.

6. Jean Shaheen was assasinated by the GOP.
She was a rising star - a popular two term Democratic governor in a state slowly transitioning from solid Republican to swing state status. She was a clear threat to take a critical seat from the Republican's in the senate, and she was the target of a felony conspiracy to end her political career.

yet another felony at the white house (yawn)

11. evidence the WHITE HOUSE was involved in voter manipulation
Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 10:17 AM by nashville_brook
cleanse you palatte and lets say that again -- EVIDENCE the WHITE HOUSE (president et al) were INVOLVED in denying a fair vote to the people.

this is news from the twilight zone. we've lost all sense of proportion if this doesn't make everyone who reads it need to vomit. imagine if Jimmy Carter was caught doing this? imagine if Reagan was caught doing this? holy crap! we expect politicians to be all kinds of ugly, but this is beyond the pale.

(can't wait till the REAL dirt get aired... and, i'm starting to think it might!)

13. there was a piece on Something Awful... a WH insider airing his
dirty laundry. he spoke about weird OCD behavior (tom ridge, rumsfeld) and hygeine problems (cheney) which was fine and good. always love a good story about bad guys and their anti-social behavior.

but the REAL news in his post was that everyone working in the administration at his level (young schmoes) KNOW the other shoe is getting ready to drop. he said that every single DAY there's shit going on that would land those criminals in jail and it's a testament to the 'evil genius" of the press office for NEUTERING the press corps. that, you don't see the real genius of Scatt McClellen in his daily briefings -- he has done his 'job' way before he takes the podium by cowing the journos.

he also mentions that there's a lot more that the admin is responsible for in the Katrina mess than what we know. here's an exchange that i think is very pertainent:

(question) I don't think you answered the question about whether or not the administration thought Kerry could have won the election. Do you have any insight on this?

(answer) Everyone always takes presidential elections seriously, and anything can happen. I think Kerry actually did win, or at least would have won, but as a result of some stuff done in Ohio I won't go into, he didn't make it. This is one of the things people will go to jail over.

16. that's what i'm sayin' -- this is manna from heaven
no more than can make a blanket claim of denial. therre's EVIDENCE of motivation. EVIDENCE of prior tampering. this is 2002 -- how might they have 'improved' their methods in 2004? how might they have been emboldened?

we know the answer, but the questions keep a-comin'!

22. -snip-
Virtually all the calls to the White House went to the same number, which currently rings inside the political affairs office. In 2002, White House political affairs was led by now-RNC chairman Ken Mehlman. The White House declined to say which staffer was assigned that phone number in 2002.
