So is the corporate media all rah-rah for Iran?
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 07:59 PM by senseandsensibility
I haven't watched the corporate "news" in more than a year, but the memories of its shameless shilling for Iraq are fresh. Generally speaking, is there ANY skepticism this time? Are they doing anything other than acting as stenographers?

1. Well, since Kissinger has come out for it, that means
that the China/Isreal axis is for it, so if they are not onboard soon, they will be.

2. Oh they'd love to run stories about Block Buster Bombs or Tactical Nuclear
Weapons being used = good for Ratings.

3. Jack Cafferty said he was scared
and Leslie told him that there were a lot of people feeling the same way.

4. Well, that's something
:eyes: Not real reporting, but not exactly cheerleading. I suppose it's the best we can hope for.

5. I saw
Jim Leher. They had on Dick Barf Perle, I don't need to tell what his stance was. The Iranians are behind the whole insurgency in Iraq, etc. Some other guy was on rebuking him, was very coherent. Also on npr, I heard about the impact on China relations, even if they don't get involved militarily, economically they can throw us for a loop.

6. I was so unimpressed with NPR during the run-up to Iraq
They better not roll over this time!

7. Pretty Much...
Anytime it's reported, the threat/danger aspect is 'settled logic' with flavor of 'when', instead of 'if'.

You haven't missed a thing.

8. They haven't gotten the memo from Rove yet
the bombing attacks will need to be in September/October to keep republicans in congress....you'll get the usual, support our troops and commander in time of war, together with some 'dramatic discoveries' (made up shit to justify the attack)

Bush HAS to attack Iran. Its the only thing that can keep a democratic congress from happening which will mean his impeachment.
