6. To scare the crap out of the government
Large numbers of working people in the streets could be pretty effective. Better than sitting home and being depressed over losing work.

9. How about equity in income from one's own labors?
How about repairing a broken tax policy that taxes earned income at double the rate of unearned income (income from the labors of others)?

11. Now there's a cause worth fighting for!
Somehow I doubt that's what Dobbs (or CNN) had in mind...

but still.

12. I've listened to Dobss for quite a while
... and I believe that's exactly what he has in mind.

He uses the term "middle class" to refer to those workers between the very poorest and very wealthiest. When they 'disappear' we'll have the prototypical banana republic - a neocolonial plantation economy where the wealthy are 'owners' and the poor are 'workers' and it's 1% (or less) of the former and 99% (or more) of the latter. Clearly, some 'workers' scramble to be agents for "the man" who get to exercise the delegated power of the 'owner' - and we all should know what 'power' does.

There's no question that Dobbs is a capitalist - but he's not blind to the abuses and corruptions in our system. Remember, he's the one who counted the days until Enron executives were jailed. I think Dobbs is very clear on the idea that it takes an affluent 'middle class' to make an economy truly healthy.

10. I took this to mean their need for work
I took it to mean specifically the outsourcing and also moving factories out of the country. Maybe I'm wrong in my interpretation but that's how I read it.

13. Sounds like Lou is trying to get a Klan rally going, I guess since there

hasn't been violence and such with the rallies he's going to take matters into his own hands.

14. Lou supported Alito - an antiworker, procorporate fascist judge.
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 06:48 PM by blm
And NOW he wants to show concern for the workers? The antiworker rulings of Alito will have a more damaging aftermath than any other issue.
