Government wants to know where you'll be this holiday.
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 09:11 AM by Metta
I just called the post office's automated vacation hold mail number, 1-800-275-8777, and was appalled to hear that they wanted a phone number where they could reach me during my upcoming holiday trip. WTF!?!? I hit zero and finished my call and then vented my surprise and outrage, in a nice kind of way, to the person on the other end who completely understood that they are going too far and that there seems to be no reason for them to need to contact me about my held mail during my trip. She said she'd pass this along to her supervisors.

Darkness continues to fall on the land.

18. I just did that and
since the address where I live is "connected" to a phone that is not mine I chose to not go all the way through, BUT, it goes to show that the a**holes at my PO don't know what they're talking about and I intend to let them know all about it!
End of Rant!! :)

14. Me too TAPat
Our local postal guy is great too. He not only occasionally plays piano at a local bar but he hosts a discussion group centering on "The Nation" at our small local library so I bet he will find this pretty interesting. As soon as I get back home on Thurs. I will defintely check in with him. We have a PO Box so I chat with him all the time.

4. One, I wasn't even aware there was a number you could call; I
must be old school. Fill out that yellow 'hold mail' card and deliver.
Two, yeah, that's going way too far. When was the last time the post office
actually called anyone, unless you had a problem?

7. today my eight year old son out of blue says, bush clouded by
darkness. ya i say, he is. where did you get that. thinking star wars, but not really says son, in applying to what he was saying with bush. then we had conversation about what it meant to be clouded by darkness pertaining to bush, and there is a possibility of good, but..... they chose darkness.

"Darkness continues to fall on the land."

this reminded me of the conversation

You better not shout

You better not pout

I'm-a tellin' you why

"Bin Laden is coming to town!"(Orange LERT!)

Beware of Easter Bunnies dressed up like Terra-ist frog men and flying crop dusters. That Is All!

Edit...Tell them..."If I was up your ass kicking a football you'd know where I was! OR, you could say...

You... Didn't I tell you where I'd be over the weekend?

Them...NO!

You...Well, then it must not have been any of your Gawd Damned Business!

17. It maybe to confirm that someone did not call in your name
without your permission, just go down to the post office and turn in the card and speak to a human.

??????
