3. poppy's grandfather (after whom he is named),
George Herbert Walker grew up in a Catholic family who wanted him to join the priesthood and sent him to a seminary in England. Young George Herbert Walker hated religion, one day he just left the seminary, it caused a rift between him and his family that was never repaired (I believe I read) and eventually met a young EPISCOPALIAN woman whom he married. The offspring from that union (one DOROTHY WALKER) eventually met and married one PRESCOTT BUSH ... the result was POPPY ... as far as religion goes ... one really has to wonder the depth of any real religious feelings in the family.
