Is the Bush family "privilege" finally unraveling?
George W. Bush is the privileged son of rich and elite parents........prep schools, Ivy League, "helped" into the National Guard. He's been a privileged student and businessman propped up by family friends and retainers. That assumption of privilege has been with him always. Is the "privilege" finally starting to unravel?

1. We're seeing what a lack of accountability can lead to
OVERREACH. Feels he's above the law, all right.

IMPEACHMENT NOW!

16. No way would a mother who breastfed her babies go golfing
the day after burying one of them after a long acute illness like leukemia. If those kids were nursed, it was because Babs hired someone to do it.

4. Well, when you are all privilege, and no class
I guess it is inevitable that your empire will fall.

7. As the saying goes, "Power corrupts, and absolute power
corrupts absolutely." And that is what's happening here. The overreach of Bush and his cabal, as well as many others in the Bush family, is finally coming back to bite them. Maybe not as fast as we have wished, and I have absolutely no doubt that they will do anything they can to keep Bushie Boy out of trouble. But no one can push the envelope as far as they have, can run roughshod over laws and rights and people, and just keep going, just keep doing it. At some point, it will bite them in the ass.

I know there are people here on DU who will disagree with me, and that's fine. But I will just repeat what I have said before: Things will not always be this way. Even the most corrupt will fall out of power. It's happened before, and it will happen again. The bad thing is, or course, that before the fall, people like Bush create so much damage and mayhem in the world that it then takes a long time to recover from it.

12. Quite well. Believe it or not, our weather has been BETTER
than Southern California's. (Good news: We've had beautiful weather here. Bad news: Global warming)

15. I agree with you about ....... "Power Corrupts"
George Sr.'s kids never had a "normal" upbringing and didn't learn any hard knocks in life like most of us do. I believe there is a major sense of entitlement, especially for Jr.

17. The Imperial Blivet's comments on saving healthcare and
doctors publishing menus, etc, are indicative of how out of touch he is with typical Americans. He wants people who aren't even able to get by on poor wages to open healthcare savings accounts, but he doesn't specify with what they should do this. He thinks a mother working 2 or three jobs to keep her little family treading water is a good thing.
