CNN showing Cynthia in a "Supposed" new Scuffle
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 03:23 PM by KoKo01
but the scuffle was with her Aide who was bumped by an agressive reporter. Wolf went out of his way to bill the story as if McKinney was involved in the scuffle while the tape showed an agressive, bullying reporter in her face as she walked along and actually bumping into one of her aides. Jack Cafferty even made fun of her. Wolf said we've all been overly agressive as reporters "trying to get a story" and officials should be used to this.

It was disgusting. I'd like to know who that reporter was. Only one reporter...could have been a plant...to harrass her after she was forced to apologize by her own.

I'm telling you she's being set up. Look for the video if they show it again in full. She was being agressively harrassed. And Repugs sent disrupters to Nick Lampson's rally in Texas. Yet, no photo's of that.

1. Wolf went out of his way to say it's not uncommon...
for things like this to happen. Said it happens a lot.

Sorry, I don't view Wolf's reaction the same as you.

3. About that "aide"... Let's keep this in perspective.
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 03:24 PM by TomInTib
from the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

But even as McKinney appeared to be trying to put the issue to rest, a bodyguard she hired – reportedly a former Georgia state trooper – was raising another furor when he threatened a television reporter trying to interview McKinney outside the Capitol just minutes before she appeared on the House floor.

When the reporter from Cox Broadcasting tried to ask McKinney about the grand jury, the bodyguard told him, "I'm going to put your ass in jail. I'm a police officer," a videotape of the incident shows.

Asked if he worked for Capitol police, the man said, "I work for Miss McKinney."

Word that McKinney had hired a bodyguard roiled the ranks of the Capitol police who were worried that the guard was carrying a weapon. They said they are concerned about what the bodyguard might do if Capitol police challenged McKinney at a security checkpoint.

McKinney's office did not return repeated phone calls seeking comment.

4. The AJC is reasonably liberal, largely Democratic but knows MCkinney
and how she treats people.

24. OK, you are past ridiculous
The body guard said "I'm going to put your ass in jail if you push me one more time" in response to being pushed and shoved by the REPORTER.

So, watching the video, I want you to tell me how this is in any way the fault of Ms. McKinney or the body guard.

As for the AJC being "liberal" or "Democratic" let me laugh you out of the room right now. The AJC is neither. And where Congresswoman McKinney is concerned they are, have always been, and will always been VICIOUS.

5. Can DUers now stop catapulting the propaganda?
Isn't it obvious at this point that she is being targeted by the rovian attack machine?

Please stop feeding the trolls.

Note to the OP - not you, my point is that your post clearly indicates where this is coming from and where it is going.

6. Swiftboating 101. Sometimes I think DUers are the stupid ones, not the
Freepers. (Some of us anyway.)

Just off the top of my head:

Joseph Wilson.
Valerie Plame.
Richard Clark.
Scott Ritter.
John McCain.
Max Cleland.
John Kerry.
His wife.
Mrs. John Conyers.
Kevin Shelley.
CBS.
Capt. James Yee.
Sibel Edmonds.

Lie. Lie some more. Degrade, smear, whisper, plant rumor, blackmail, broadcast false charges, ruin, humiliate, demean, marginalize, prod weakness, spy upon, set up, sting, bully, threaten, fire, muzzle with gag orders, fax 'talking points' around, and get the stupid (or collusive) Democrats to blame the victims.

When are we going to learn?

7. You forgot Dan Rather
getting Rathered established a whole new level of swiftboating.

But to answer your question, either we have a remarkably stupid cohort of DU'ers who fall for every rovian attack, or we have a network of freepoids persistently trolling away here, or we have Democratic Disease, which is really a subset of the stupid cohort where stupid is replaced with 'well intentioned but naive to the point of imbecility'. Actually of course it is all three.

8. I am a Democrat from GA
I'm not in McKinney's district, but she has been an embarassment since she got elected. She is one of the reasons that we lose good Democrats in Georgia.

13. As she was going in to "apologize" there was a new incident
She has a bodyguard who slammed into an Atlanta Reporter and told the reporter he was a cop. Fox (this is not substantiated) is leading with the story that Cox news is undecided about pressing charges.

16. Your statement does not even make sense
How in the hell could it be Cynthia's fault "that we lose good Democrats in Georgia"?

Does Cynthia count the votes? Does Cynthia smear other Dems?

Gosh, either your naivety is showing or you are purposely smear a Democrat on a Democratic board.

Which is it?

To say nothing of smearing each OTHER.

11. Being set up? Nah. Are they making poltical hay out of the incident?
You betcha.

I'm going with the assumption that the cop thought he was doing his job, and Ms. McKinney thought she was in the right as well. What the media is doing with the event has no bearing on the guilt or innocence of either the cop or Ms. McKinney.

17. In what way are you using that phrase?
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 05:28 PM by LittleClarkie
As in distorting what really happened for political gain?

It doesn't mean "being set up". Kerry was never "set up". But his actions were distorted.

Do you think the original incident was staged? Is that how she is being "set up"? If so, I think that goes a bit far.

19. I think the M$M has had a field day with this
giving it more coverage than it deserved, just like when they played the swiftboat ads and called it news 24/7 during the election... They ram it down people's throats..

23. Everone is exploiting it - the GOP and the media and McKinnney herself.
And I wouldn't be at all surprised if it doesn't crop up again in fundraising both for and against McKinney.

25. I know...very "sick" Mainstream Media to go that low after she apologized
for what she said and did and many DU'ers here said that "IF" she apologized they would forgive her...and many here thought she had hurt the Dem Party.

So Cynthia APOLOGIZES and "THEY' go AT HER AGAIN!!!!

Sort of shows what it's all about, doesn't it...:-(

27. CHP are apparently a bunch of stupid assholes with a lot of time on their
hands. If McKinney is assaulted by someone her body guard could restrain the person or citizens arrest the person that was assaulting the person he was hired to protect.
