KERRY on Leak Case: "It's About As Serious As It Gets"
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 03:00 PM by kpete
It's about as serious as it gets

MSNBC (snippet from Tweety Show 12:50 pst)

Kerry
If the president indeed authorized the leak of information that was selected, that only made the case and he specifically left out that information that was to the contrary, then the president engaged in the very activity that they have denied all along which is misleading the American people in the case for the war.

Tweety
How serious is that?

Kerry
About as serious as it gets

27. He was. Blitzkrieg's questions on the Situation Room were not nearly
as informative as Tweety's though. First time I've watched Hardball in a LONG time. Kerry did an excellent job.

between the prerecorded segments. At best, he looks like a deer in the headlights, at worst, I have heard him interrupt himself!

Kerry learned that Tweety is more respectful an interviewer when he's off his set.

Serious as it gets sounds like 100% on the seriousness scale. Some will only be happy if Kerry commits to at least 200% serious. :)

Let's have a pissing match and analyze who's seriouser - Feingold or Kerry???

Fortunately, both Feingold and Kerry are honorable fighting Dems who are above such inanities and who support each other.

Edit: Yes I know "seriouser" isn't a word - but it should be. ;)

40. Picking a winner
Who ever first says that this is at least twice as serious as a crime could possibly be will be the winner.

Extra credit for making up words if they sound good and are at least 200% serious.

No fence sitting by only considering this a 100% serious matter.

43. You keep forgettting...
Kerry is supposed to start screaming in a vulgrity-laced tirade and demand that Bush come down to the station pronto and "get a hot can of kickass from me!"

Kerry is supposed to go off like Charlie Manson mid-knife plunge into someone's neck and spit into the TV camera, roll his head around like whatshername in the Exorcist and then pound on his chest like King Kong while he screams like Tarzan...Oh and flip the bird and pull his finger up, blow on it like it's a gun and then turn around and moon the camera.

He just can't do enough for some people.

47. Impeachable on a grand scale
It is a breathtaking abuse of power, beyond anything this republic has ever seen before. They out a CIA NOC operative, making her useless and her cover company as well. They do it to gain partisan advantage so they can start a war of agression against a small country halfway around the world for personal gain and glory.

The whole thing makes Nixon's plumbers seem harmless and his enemies list sane.

BTW, I'm not the least bit surprised that Bush is involved, I'm just surprised that fact ever saw the light of day.

I hope Scooter stays out of small planes long enough to testify at the impeachment proceedings.

that is why Kerry conditioned every answer with "if it's true". As a lawyer, doing otherwise would be wrong. This does need to be investigated.

Hell, if I'm not supposed to care whether censure could actually pass or not (which it can't currently)....because it's the Principle....than I feel the same way about Impeachment....which is the true fitting punishment for the crimes committed by this administration. Hell, Impeaching Bush and Cheney would just mean the end of the GOP for years to come.

If he gets impeached, can he cast the deciding vote in the Senate on whether to convict himself?
Will Chief Justice Roberts sew bars on his judicial robes giving himself symbols of rank?

In any event, we can't start at the top. We have to get rid of Cheney the puppetmaster first.

39. I used to think that stuff that flew out of Tweety's mouth
and collected in the corners of his lips was spittle until I saw him interview Tom Delay the other day, so be careful Mr Kerry, don't get any of that on your clothing or they'll be screaming about semen stained clothing on a Democrat again.. :)

Getting tired of all this smoke and mirrors, high and low hopes, dog and pony show.. it's OVER folks, these assholes have won, they are lawless, will not be imprisoned OR Impeached with the Rubber Stamp Brigade in Congress and no checks and balances, as well as a TOTALLY packed Supreme Court..

I hate to say this, cos I really would LOVE to see that bastard sent to the Hague, but they've planned all this for 40 years and now they've got all the Marbles and no one else gets to play, especially the american people..

This is where America USED to Be.

So we get all these little hopes and fits and starts from the Dems, sites like Raw Story and others whip people into a lather (or they do it to themselves, they WANT IT SO BAD), and then NOTHING happens.. ask for Censure, ONE GUY SHOWS UP.. Conyers gets the goods on them, they beg to get a Hearing in the BASEMENT OF the Capitol..

Delay steps down, all the media talks about is how McKinney could have poked an eye out with her cellphone and THAT is Grand Jury material..

WE Are living in Bizzarro world and unless there's the slightest possibility that the repig owned voting system fucks up so bad that it can't be denied we're screwed for a LONG time.

Sorry to sound like a downer, but I'm getting sick of all the hope that dives into misery while they kill and kill and kill and get away with it.

Now I know how the people in Germany felt, with their village 15 miles away from piles of bodies, rearranging their cupboards, sweeping their driveways like Nothing was happening.

When will SOMEONE speak up who can DO something?

If we were in France they'd burn down Washington (not that I'm advocating any violence at all, since it's illegal, we need to just keep sitting here consuming, watching TV, marching giant puppets down the streets on Saturdays, and complaining to each other), or their capitol, and cut off the heads of their aristos..

44. I am SO in agreement with you Symbolman.
Nothing will come of this- if anything it is the
ULTIMATE and FINAL "FUCK YOU,
WHO CARES WHAT YOU THINK?"
to the American people.

BLATANT lawlessness that will go unpunished.
The senate and congress are complicit and
guilty along with the administration.
WE, the people, are powerless because
we have no representation in government.
In short-
It's OVER.
And I am more than willing to take bets
from anyone reading this on the fact that
NOTHING will come of this latest admission
on the unlawful actions of those in power.

As I have said repeatedly over the years
on DU, the entire administration could eat
live babies and kittens on national news
and NOTHING would happen.

Sorry, but I see NO hope other than
watching the bushbots comprehend that they
voted for the destruction of the country they claim
to love.
As if we didn't love our country too?

People get the government they deserve and all that...

50. Who'd want to be a CIA agent after this betrayal?
I realize they don't have the nimcumpoop Bush nailed for being the leaker of Plame's name (yet?) but another serious issue with this Plame outing is:

Who in their right mind would become a CIA agent now? After they've seen how casually their identities lives and are disrespected and disgarded?

Unless that was another Junta goal: to keep the CIA jobs in the hands of trusted FRAT boys and rich rightwing snots. And keep the GDI's out of the club.
