does everyone realize just what a tragedy this day is
for the united states? these revelations about the president and vice president is a stain on our country that history will never erase, and rightly so.nixon`s crime is nothing compared to what these band of crooks ,lier's,and thieves have done to our country and to the world at large. the sooner these people are removed from office the better and the election of november 2006 is going to be turning point in the history of this country.

1. We want the truth to come out. The tragedy was when they did it,
not that it is revealed.

4. Exactly. The actions of this treasonous administration are stains
Not the revelations.

2. They will STILL "win" the 2006 "election"
They're working on it. Believe me, right now they're in their bunkers trying to find a way to make it sound plausible. Not that they care. "Winning" is the only objective.

15. Bush's immigrant amnesty.
Nevermind that his own party is pissed about it, they will explain the late surge and squeak-through votes as American hispanics who support the immigrant amnesty, carrying the vote in crucial districts.

Of course, those districts will all count the vote by Diebold.

27. I honestly don't know.
I want -- NEED, for the sake of sanity, and my family -- to see the Republicans removed from power. But I can't say resorting to criminal activity is the way I want it to happen. Won't that just make us one of them, with a different mascot?

5. The last 8 years have been a stain on our country we will never erase
Stolen elections
Illegal wars
9/11
Clinton impeachment
Foreign policy or lack of one
destruction of social programs while giving tax cuts to the rich.

Thanks to this regime, we may very well be living in the twilight years or the Untied States of America.

Leaving his regime in office a day longer is a tragedy and it could get worse.

6. and now it is up to US!
everything we have been accusing these thugs of has been proved to be truth. if we lay down now and get comfortable with the "ongoing investigation" bull, we deserve what we get. if we do not remove and publicly punish them for treason and war crimes we will forever carry the guilt and deserve the world's scorn. the press belongs to US. the country is OURS,

7. It started in the 80's when Reagen made media concentration possible
It got dramatically worse in 2000 with the theft of the election.

This is just another spot on that road.

8. Yes
I agree with your statement, of course, but i would also add: It's a tragedy that so many supported and still support these evil bastards, and a crime that the mainstream corporate media has aided and abetted them for so long. Let us hope the tide is truly and irrevocably turning...

10. Turn tragedy into a shining example
of what a working democracy really is.

In a working democracy, an arrogant treasonist should be removed from power. If we want to repair America's image after all the damage GWB has caused, we must show the world that the PEOPLE control in a successful democracy.

IMPEACH, I say! And take it to the streets.

12. No Worries! The Ministry of Truth is rapidly Revising History as We Speak
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 02:30 PM by radio4progressives
No sooner were these revelations being reported all over the msm, the Ministry of Propadanda and Misinformation were quickly on the scene in rapid fire succession - deleting the facts and revising the outcome.

So all is well in Amurika after all!

26. Yes.. Required Reading In High School back (1966)
and Mike Malloy just recently finished reading it on the air, i think the last chapter the other night. I believe all those segments are archived at whiterose.org (double check that) ..

I loved how J.K. Rowling used the concept in her Harry Potter novels too...

In my day, we were taught the concept of learning from History so that we don't repeat past mistakes.

The problem with the platitude, is that it was empty of the exact lessons, we only had certain markers that pointed to ideology by not all of the conditions surrounding the ideologies that were hell bent in destroying our freedoms and democracy, by any means necessary.

14. we already knew that Cheney had authorized Libby to leak....
the 'news' is that (acccording to MSNBC report by David Schuster) Libby was reluctant to release classified info so Cheney went back and got suthorization from B*SH. B*sh, who repeatedly stated that releasing classified info was a crime, and that anyone in his admin would be dealt with, and that he knoew of no one involved in this. A real trifecta of BS.

The tragedy was when the Supremes declared Chimp the president. All that followed are the catastrophic consequences of something that should never have been.

18. This tells me that we didn't do enough after Nixon to make
sure that this never happens again. After we clean up both branches of government (The Executive Office and Congress) we really have to be vigilant to make sure that our legislators pass the necessary laws to prevent this corruption of our government to ever happen again. I believe a good start would be a massive overhaul of our election system, paper, hand counted ballots, government funded campaigns, and run off tabulation of votes to enable minority parties to have their voice heard.

The quote I offer is about THEM.

And I'm real new here and I know the rules said you get banned here easy, so I didn't want to put the whole article.

(And, you know, if I can't even ask a question about an article you haven't even SEEN, then it's looking like the right thing that I not post any of it...)

Otherwise we would not be able to learn from past mistakes.
The mistake is on the people, the crime is on the illigitimate rulers.
