What's the deal with Bohemian Grove?
I had heard vague stories about this place, but a co-worker prompted me to delve deeper. Is this pure BS? What gives?

1. Depends who you ask.
It all sounds rather silly to me, although every year we get a whole bunch of protesters.

Last year or the year before, Mickey Hart and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead were among the attendees. If it is really some ultra-secret PNAC planning ground, I find it hard to believe those guys are part of the big conspeeeewacy.

20. I was one of those protestors...
around 1980. I hadn't heard of any weird rituals at the time, but just knowing who was attending was enough reason to be outside the gate with signs. I do believe Henry Kissinger was a visitor in those days.

22. Given the guest list, a certain amt. of protesting makes sense.
I just don't buy some of the weirder tales you hear about what supposedly goes on there.

2. The stories range from the bizarre
To the completely batshit insane. But it is a real place, and world leaders really do go there and at the very least act like stupid frat boys, and it's all men except for hookers, and what do we think they talk about?

Beyond that there are very creepy accusations that go as far as sexual abuse of children and ritual murder. I don't know about those, but Bohemian Grove is definitely where the moguls go to plot and play.

3. Its a place up in the redwoods where
all the rich (mostly repub) mucky mucks go in the summer where they run around nekkid swatting each other in the ass with rolled up towels and shit like that. Then they come back and run the country. Really makes ya confident about the future don't it?

4. It's absolutely true
I've spoken at length with a former member. A bunch of whacked out right-wing wealthy people get together for silly pagan rituals (including a mock lynching and cremation -- they used to make the "figure" used black -- they don't anymore) and debauchery. Male prostitutes make a killing off the Grove when it's open.

12. The best inside account of BG is in the November 1989 issue
Edited on Wed Apr-05-06 08:01 PM by DinahMoeHum
of the irreverent satirical magazine SPY. (out of print many years ago)

Here's a link to the story.
http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/NWO/Bohemian_Grove_Spy_Magazine.htm

This link, however, does not do justice to the actual magazine issue, which featured Henry Kissinger and Merv Griffin on the cover, dancing the can-can, holding tiki drinks in one hand, wearing coconut-shell bras, and dressed in lederhosen (I swear, I am NOT making this up. I still have that issue, buried in a magazine stack somewhere in storage. Unfortunately, I don't know how to scan the pages and post them for all of you to enjoy! :evilfrown:)

The original article also featured a map of the place, including the various camps where the author named famous names at each camp.

The funniest part of the original article showed a sign attached to a redwood tree which read:
"GENTLEMEN, PLEASE! NO PEE-PEE HERE!"
as well as an actual picture of a elderly coot doing the wee-wee number.

http://www.conspiracyarchive.com/NWO/Bohemian_Grove_Spy_Magazine.htm
(snip)
You know you are inside the Bohemian Grove when you come down a trail in the woods and hear piano music from amid a group of tents and then round a bend to see a man with a beer in one hand and his penis in the other, urinating into the bushes. This is the most gloried-in ritual of the encampment, the freedom of powerful men to pee wherever they like, a right the club has invoked when trying to fight government anti-sex discrimination efforts and one curtailed only when it comes to a few popular redwoods just outside the Dining Circle. Tacked to one of these haplessly postprandial trees is a sign conveying the fairy-dust mixture of boyishness and courtliness that envelops the encampment: Gentlemen please! No pee pee here!
(snip)

19. I've seen the film and read about the ritual
There is a symbolic child sacrifice that is part of the ceremony before the Great Owl, whose name escapes me, but who is traced to the mideast, say Old Testament times.

Supposedly, the symbolic child sacrifice is supposed to assuage the guilt they might feel for the decisions they make which sometimes surely kill innocents, even children.

Bottom line is, it's a bunch of self important heavy weight evil bastards who get together to be together and swap phone numbers and evil pointers.

memory to a Drudge writing sometime in 1999 or late 1998. He reported that a potential candidate for President had helpers combing the country to gather up photos and stuff that wouldn't be received well - in particular a nude picture of one of the potential candidates dancing nude on a table top with boots on.

Now, I didn't think it was Gore or Bradley or McCain or the plaid shirt guy - none of the candidates, except one, struck me as the person who filled the boots.

Maybe at this event?

23. It has to do with the Order of death
The Order of Death, about rituals of the modern day descendents of Babylonian mystery cults.

Bohemian Grove has a ritual of a fake Human sacrifice being sacrificed to a canaanite god Moloch the owl...

it tends to be where a Jeff Gannon would be the perfect fellow to be there...

25. Maybe it's all fake. Read John DeCamp's book about the
Franklin Conspiracy. There are some strange tales about the BG and ritual murders related by child abuse victims.
