The tribes were the victims of Mr. Abramoff. Mr. Dorgan received money from the tribes. The donation itself is not the crime, even if it had come from Abramoff himself. The crime is making or accepting the donation with the intention of influence-peddling. Please do not get confused.

It seems from the Washington Post article (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/04/AR2005120401158.html) that he held one event in a skybox and signed one piece of legislation he probably would have signed anyway. It was Conrad Burns, a Republican, who made sure that an Abramoff firm received the grant. If Burns took money from Abramoff, that's a crime.

In Al Franken's book "Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot", Franken tells the story of his hosting of a White House Correspondents Dinner, early in the Clinton years. Franken made up the joke that Wolf's real name was "Leslie". It was a A JOKE.

Wolf is short for Wolfgang, and like his last name, is very German.

I despise Wolf Blitzer, but the truth is the truth, and since Franken's joke made Blitzer laugh, just how effective is repeating the joke as a put-down over and over on DU?

Answer: Not very.
