I was looking through a website called "The Black Republican"

I know, I know, that's why I thought they could use the hits. Hahaha
http://www.theblackrepublican.net/

Anyway, it contains a typical blog slanted to how racially biased Dems are.
....(I know, but hang with me here.)
Scroll down the page just a little (5th entry) to this entry....

And click on their link to the "major news outlet". Do it... you'll LOL until you C-R-Y:

Tuesday December 20, 2005
Democratic Congressman endorses the return of slavery
A major news outlet for most Americans has broken a big story with an interview with Rep. Major Owens (D-New York), revealing his true feelings about slavery.

Businesses would be more profitable if they went back to slavery.... You could work people the way slave masters worked them, from sunup to sundown.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Remember that interview now?
After you see that read on for more gems like this entry in consideration for "Black Republican of the Year":

I think it's about time we started a tradition that Steve, Rick, and I have mulled over for some time. While skipping through the archives, and as our friends in the MSM begin their "Year in Review" pieces (like TIME Magazine's "Man of the Year"), take a moment to think who might deserve the honor of Black Republican of the Year.

While I am tempted to nominate our Secretary of State, and despite his many missteps throughout the year, I believe the man who made this happen may be the person most exemplifying the principles and ideals of The Black Republican: George W. Bush.

Who will you nominate?

Then I looked to the aknowledgments on the left side.....And read this:

"First and foremost, I'd like to thank Senator Trent Lott (R-Mississippi), who was the founding inspiration for this endeavor."

Believe it or not.....It gets funnier, a lot funnier. Here's where we meet "Steve, Rick, and Chris", The Black Republicans themselves:
Warning; Do not attempt to drink milk while opening this link

For a bonus click on "Richards" pic to see how "Black Republicans" spend their days

I can't make this stuff up, or I'd be writing comedy for The Daily Show

2. The truly sad thing is
there ARE black republicans. They are just as deluded and insane as the website you encountered--Alan Keyes comes to mind.

Personally, I think they are the true slaves. They are so busy kissing the white GOP's collective ass and denouncing the racist history of america, that they don't even get how they are being used to take the country back another forty years.

3. Funny how when you go to the site expecting to see something about blacks
you get instead 3 white guys, one looks like a geek (sorry to any geeks in DU) who's never been outside of his basement apartment and the other two look like they just came from a red neck convention of the KKK. Plus you get to read about what credentials they have to make them experts on afro american issues. Wheres the black republicans?

4. Well, the girl on his right ALMOST looks black
So I guess he qualifies, at least by Republican standards.

But the whiteness of this site forced me to wear sunglasses while viewing it.

8. Funny...
Reminds me of this conservative group, I've read about called the African American Republican Leadership Council, which has a mostly white advisory board, of noted conservatives such as Sean Hannity, Grover Norquist and Gary Bauer.

11. It's funny, but I don't believe it's satire
Look deeper, not a hint of intentional humor at all:

10. I'm a little bit too dazed to laugh out loud... Interesting how there
seem to be no actual African American people involved in the site or group in any way! And they have a pic of Lincoln on the top banner, where they could have put Frederick Douglass or some other actual great and actually black Republican!

Check out the "eclectic" list of links on the left too, including all RW hate show sites, and some video game sites (Everquest, Star Wars: Galaxies etc.).

12. Dude, no way.
He was being sarcastic on the Colbert Report on Comedy Central when Colbert suggested lengthening the work week instead of raising wages and they thought he was being serious on a serious news show?

No way. I won't believe it.

17. They knew that....They knew that many people don't check the source
Edited on Sun Jan-08-06 11:17 PM by JohnnyRingo
Even if one opens the link, there's no evidence that it's out of context.

The site is predicated on blatent lies in hopes that someone researching African American republicans, or Abe Lincoln online will find out what racists we democrats are and how the repubs are all "big tent".

See also the sister site "Black Madonna", from the same losers. I wonder if this was instituted by a beleagered Trent Lott to help his image. It was started right after his birthday tribute to Strom.

On edit, they claim to have been inspired to set up the site BECAUSE of the deplorable comments by Lott.
