Why would Tom DELAY give the scoop to Tweety in particular?
Tweety just gave his breathless version. That one of DELAY's people called one of Tweety's people and said DELAY wanted to talk to Tweety personally and NOT to complain about anything. I'd say: What would he or other Repukes have to complain about with Tweety? That DELAY told Tweety that any Repuke could win in the district EXCEPT Delay, that by stepping out of the way he would be saving the seat for Repukes, that DELAY expected an ONSLAUGHT of attack ads by those MEAN DEMS and could not withstand the MEANNESS of the DEMS. Yeah right, like the scummiest-of-the-scum (DELAY) would be outmatched for MEANNESS by the namby pamby Dems.

Why Tweety? Why not Faux? Is it the honor-among-wingnut-lobbyist code?

4. FAUX had him on this morning, I guess. There's a thread here on DU.
I haven't watched FAUX propaganda network since the 2000 election thievery. Why Tweety? He's a shill. That's what he's on MSRNC for. He propagandizes for the repukes and the WH.

5. It stinks, doesn't it? Tweety this am on MSNBC:
said he'd ask DeLay tough questions and that DeLay is in an "open" mood - he specifically said "cathartic" to describe the scumbag. What we're gonna get is a DeLay who will be more concerned about the party than himself and Tweety will enable him all the way. I'm sure they're rehearsing the script right now.

It's a dog and pony show not for the base (FOX), but for others (MSNBC) - repugs are getting desperate, IMHO.

9. EXACTLY
This was never intended for Fox viewers. Fox viewers get their news from FOX and only Fox, so many of them went to bed without hearing a word of this. It allowed the right-wing media to get a jump start, gauging reaction, figuring out the best angles, and finding the right reaction clips to pander to the Fox ignorati over breakfast.

It was carefully crafted, imo, for maximum impact on us, minimum impact on the GOP base.

7. Seems like a perfectly logical choice to me
Tweety's softball interview with the bugman a few weeks ago made him the friendliest host Tom could imagine.

But, I love it that the Fweeps heads are exploding because it wasn't on FAUX.

8. Tweety would be right at home on Fox.
Look at how excited he got about that crapfest in Tennessee & how much coverage he gave it. "Republicans are picking the next President." Not picking the nominee... picking the next President.

11. Actually Time had the scoop.
Tweety's announcement on TV preceeded the article by about 15 minutes.
