Now it's even easier to track your favorite DU Journals
To make it easier for DU members to keep track of your favorite DU Journals, we recently updated the Journal Tracker function on the "My DU" page.

Any DUer with a Journal that is on your DU buddy list is included in your Journal Tracker. The Journal Tracker lists the Journal in chronological order, based on the last update time of each Journal, and includes the title of the most recent Journal entry. The Journals near the top of the list are the most recently updated.

You can also sort the Journal tracker alphabetically. Just select from the drop-down menu and click "Update."

To see the Journal Tracker, visit your "My DU" page and scroll halfway down the page:

It's also easiser than ever to add a member's Journal to your Journal Tracker, or to your Journal's Blogroll. Look in the right column of any Journal to find the module called "Visitor Tools." There are now three links there:

Track this Journal
Blogroll this Journal

Thanks Skinner. I am still trying to make up for the time I spent playing with Random Journal, that blew a couple of days for me last week.

8. How do we post to our journal?
Skinner-

1st, you've all done a great job with DU. I use it as a newspaper and read it every morning before the NYTs. So, congratulations on a wonderful (if complicated) site.

It's the complications that I'm writing you about. The last one is my new journal, Fascist Papers. That is, it's a journal that isn't a journal... because there's nothing posted in it.

Not for lack of trying, however. I did everything I could think of to post to it directly. Finally, I decided that it would only "pick up" comments or entries posted at one of the forums. So...

I posted to a forum on a conveniently compatible question, but still couldn't see how I would magically make my new post appear on/have any relevance to- my new journal.

I've searched DU high & low for info on how to post to one's own journal, but I clearly (or not so clearly) don't get it.

I went back to my post and the moderator suggested that my post was agnst the rules (quote to long)and I replied and asked him just what I'm asking you. He hasn't gotten back so I thought I'd try and locate someone who might know how to help me.

Hopefully...you are he.

Thanks in advance,
Fascist Papers

10. Should the instructions for use be modified
to make it clear that to see any form of list, you have to click on 'Update'? If you just open "My DU", you get an empty section. Then you have to click on 'Update' to get them, in whatever order the drop down currently specifies. If you've added them via the "Track this Journal" link, then, until you've clicked on 'Update' in "My DU" once, you don't see a list at all.

11. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
That's not the way it's supposed to work. I have not experienced this problem. I will tell Elad.

13. Is this the highest post count for one day ever?
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 09:18 PM by monarch
and is it possible to compile all the photoshops and videos into one post for the greatest page. I think that people on dial-up are missing alot by not wanting to wait for slow loading times. They might chance it for a whopper of a payoff

16. I don't understand the problem.
Which number of posts are you referring to. As far as I can tell, your number of posts is 4342, not 20.

17. On "My DU" Page
Show how many posts? 20 - Should I be able to update this.

If not, where can I see my number of posts?

It has been on 20 forever...never changes...no matter how many posts I make..

18. Your number of posts is on your DU profile
Which can be accessed by clicking this icon on any of your posts:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=user_profiles&u_id=151115

The "Show how many posts?" on the My DU page refers to the number of posts you want listed under "My Posts". The default is 20, which is why it says "20 most recent posts shown (48 hours max)" at the bottom of the my posts section. To change the number of posts showing, just type a new number and click "Update".
