Tahoe ad redux
The Chevy Tahoe ads were a real kick. A lot of people including myself had a lot of fun and caused a lot of laughter. Even a coworker of mine who still supports Bush got a real laugh out of them (and inched a little further away from the dark side).

One of the things that made it work so well if you're not a marketer of Chevy was that their interface was really easy to use. I have to hand it to them for designing it.

What I wonder is, how hard would it be to create something similar for DU? Ideally, it would have short video clips, allow people to upload more video clips, maybe add a few features like still frames for specified amounts of time or loops of clips. Let people continue to make ads, hone their messages about a wider range of issues than just how much SUVs suck.

1. Yep, I think someone brought this idea up ........
in one of those threads. That would be fun to do for the more creative types but I'm wondering what then? How would we distribute our messages to a wider audience?

2. Distribution
I'm not sure that would be the goal, at least not at first. It was just a lot of fun to do. Later on, maybe some could be sent to MoveOn or something. Maybe people could just play them for friends or coworkers, or send links to friends and coworkers. Several of my friends just wanted to see more ads so I pointed them to the main thread.

3. I have to admit .....
most of those ads were really funny and effective. I too was impressed with the layout of the Chevy site. It was so user-friendly and the finished products were polished.

I think that type of site would be very popular on the net. I am so computer ILLITERATE, I wouldn't know how to begin to set it up.

But I agree with you, the idea has potential.
