God, I love the Situation Room
Edited on Tue Mar-28-06 05:15 PM by EarlG
Now, I will admit that I had the sound turned off, but I just caught what looked like CNN's "Internet Reporter" plugging the Situation Room's crossword puzzle.

I checked out the address they put up on the screen and there it is! And not only is it entertaining, but you can actually win a SITUATION ROOM T-SHIRT! I'd kill to have one of those.

The crossword puzzle is up on the Situation Room's website right now:

Don't get too excited though - the crossword puzzle isn't interactive. You have to print out the PDF, fill in the puzzle, and mail it back to them.

Of course I would never suggest that anyone print out the puzzle, write "TRY REPORTING THE FUCKING NEWS" on it, and pop it into their mailbox. But you might as well - the small print at the bottom of the puzzle says:

God, I love the Situation Room.

3. Update
I thought that the small print at the bottom of the crossword must be a mistake, so I went to the official rules:

http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/situation.room/puzzle/

The official rules are linked directly below the link to the PDF on the Situation Room website. The official rules say:

HOW TO ENTER AND WIN: Participants complete and mail the original Puzzle printed in the March 28, 2006 Issue of Roll Call (the "Puzzle") to the following address: Situation Puzzle Redemption, P.O. Box 923478, Norcross, GA 30010. Participants may also obtain a Puzzle for entry by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to P.O. Box 923478, Norcross, GA 30010. No copies of Puzzle permitted.

So uh, tell me again why you put it on your website for people to print out?

5. AH! As my father-in-law would say, "Well thought out!"
Of course, he has Alzheimers. What's their excuse?

6. I don't get it - whats "Roll Call" puzzle
Edited on Tue Mar-28-06 06:02 PM by zippy890
is that a publication? How do I get the official March 28 'roll call'puzzle.

I'm with you, Earl, I would love an official situation room t-shirt.
:-)

So why do they have the pdf of the puzzle online if you can't use it
to enter the contest?

Oh hell, I'm going to print it and send it in anyway.

You know, I bet thats what Wolf has in his hand all the time, with the pencil in the other-
he's doing the crossword puzzle during the break!

I'm always on blitzer-watch for some sense of the guy, some emotion, some break in the
TV facade, but HE IS ALWAYS THE SAME. he's a blitzer-bot.

7. We lost "Crossfire" and gained the Shituation Room...
There's many reasons why CNN is getting their collective asses kicked by MSNBC, and the Shituation Room is one of them...:puke:
