And the irony! "Remembering Ronald Reagen" on his web site. Talking about "old" ideas from the 30's, and then talking about the friggin' "founding fathers" Isn't the constitition an old idea you scumbag? One you're actively working on gutting? Then the referral to commercials for younger people-- "prettier women" what, you want some young stuff you old fart? I heard you refer to your sons, you checkin' out their girlfriends? Or they a little too "old" for you?
Personally, I think the old, and what we call the "old, old" have been invisible in this country for too long. They're human beings with human vitallity like any other. That "senile" reference is just ageism at it's worst. Let's talk addiction shall we? Not the sole province of the young, by any means, but say an uncontrollable desire to gamble to the point of dishonesty? Or take foaming at the mouth, young earth fundlementalists,--not the most level headed of folks, by any means.
I'll take an 88 year old Democrat who's slowed down a bit with age anyday--and I've met them, believe me. I was a long-term care nurse for years. Some of the toughest human beings I've ever met we're 70's, 80's. And when they lean left, (and many of them do) that's when they are NOT "stuck" that's when there are OPEN to new ideas, and having lived in a century that has seen more change, perhaps than any other, are quite accepting of it. They may mourn the past, but can see into the possiblities of the future. Ever see a 90 something for the first time on the internet? I have. It's a beautiful thing.
That fucker. Now I'm pissed. Remind me not to listen to him again, although I appreciate you bringing this up.
