2. There are two bills being discussed-the DeWine is significantly worse
than Specter's. Arguably, Specter's isn't great either, but DeWine's is appalling. So when you see them talking about it, it's in that context, ie, should the NSA be able to bypass FISA and have a Congressional oversight committee decide if they are breaking the law or innocents are being spied on or (Specter) ought that be the province of a court and not the Senate.

5. We can only hope that the approval ratings for the Republicans
continue to spiral down, because I find DeWine's bill very unsettling. This obnoxious bully type would never have considered giving a congressional committee the charge of keeping a presidency in check if he thought the Democrats had a good chance of being the majority this November.

DeWine wouldn't put the boy king in such a vulnerable position, would he? Unless he knows the fix is already in. However, a manipulated election wouldn't seem as likely with a clear, unquestionably negative constituency rating at election time.
