The Biggest Hits the GOP Took Have Been Their Own Doing

I'm glad to see Bushco and the GOP being beaten down.

The one thing that troubles me is that our party has had so little to do with it. All their biggest losses in confidence are simply their own overreaching and fuck ups:

* Terri Schiavo
* Mismanaging Katrina rescue
* Immigration
* Jack Abramoff scandal
* Harriet Miers nomination

And if you want to count Iraq, that's their own mismanagement as well.

I'm content to have the electorate wake up, however it happens. But I'd feel better if the Dems were better at directing the hits.
