"Had Enough?"
How sad is it that Newt Gingrich is the Democrat's best marketer?

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1177137,00.html

Quoth the Lizard/Newt:
The Democrats' challenge is to do one of two things. What they are going to try to do, what they should do, is say nothing except: "had enough?" If they try to wear a mask and pretend to be moderates, Republicans will cheerfully take the mask off.

So the Republican challenge is, prove to the country that this is a choice not a referendum. The Democratic problem is make this a referendum, not a choice.

All I have to say is...

I'm comin' home Elizabeth! The end times, they is near... I can feel the monkeys perched on the edge of my butt, ready to fly!

1. James Carville titled his book, "Had Enough?". Newt stole it.

5. What book? (which is part of the problem)
I haven't even heard of the book, which is part of the problem.

Newt may have stolen the slogan, but let's face it, as long as Carville is in bed with his Republican whore of a wife, and just playing the two bit, dimwitted "Raging Cajun" he's going to play second fiddle.

Carville's useless. He's not shown me anything worthwhile in a long time. First step: kick that traitorous bitch out of his bed. Then maybe people will listen to him.

11. but when Newt Gingrich says it
you love it. :eyes:

Anyway, how much more obivous can you get than "had enough?" I bet a million challengers have used that slogan against the incumbent.

12. Newt's brilliant slogan is kind of obvious
a little googling...

A better slogan would be,

"Have you had enough?"

This is not a slogan, but I saw a bumper sticker today that read: "The Christian Right is Neither" Love it!! clap.gif

And Another: "Impeach Bush" . Also, I'm seeing lots of Kerry/Edwards stickers, but few Bush stickers, post election!

My slogan: " Had Enough Yet? Vote Democrat."

http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/features/Columns/?Article=PoliticalSlogansFly

In a bid to defeat Democratic president Harry Truman in 1946, Republicans came up with the slogan "To err is Truman." It fell flat. Then they coined "Had enough?"

http://www.billmon.org/archives/002126.html

If the present really were like the past, I suppose such a vacuum eventually would force the Democrats into power -- whether or not they deserve it or are ready for it. There can come a point where the voters get so cranky that even a clueless opposition party can win with a slogan like: "Had enough?"

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0511/24/ldt.02.html

GREENFIELD: ... those guys screwed up. And you know what? It gives them the possibility next year of resurrecting a famous campaign slogan from another landslide in 1946, when the Republicans swept to power in Washington. You know what their slogan was?

PILGRIM: What?

GREENFIELD: "Had enough?" It doesn't tell you -- that's not a Contract with America, that's not a 10-point program, that just crystallizes the anger. And if that anger is around next year, the fact that the Democrats didn't run on anything means they can say, Had enough?

13. You need "obvious"...
What the "elite" (i.e. literate) Democrats fail to understand is that you need obvious and simple to reach the trailer trash KKKristian bigots who vote Republican.

You have to be simple and stupid to get through to the bigoted, toothless white trash who put this retard in chief in office.

The simpler the better. Democrats' problem is that they presume people aren't retarded. Most of this country is. They're trailer trash, "middle Amerikkkans" which means they have an IQ of about 50...

Talk down to the morons. That's all they get. Otherwise it's more Bush and Co forever... though with Corporations running our elections, it's probably too late. The lowest common denominator has won.

I wish Democrats would learn to talk stupid. It's the only way to get to this country's citizenry on a level they can understand. If your dog can get it, then you stand a chance of getting it through the "Average Amerikkkan's" dumb skull.

6. Rachel is where I first heard of it this AM too!
I agree, it is sad, tragically so, that it's Newt. But it's true. "Had enough". Short enough and simple enough for even the dumbest, most traitorous Republican. Any more syllables and we lose the hillbilly Walmart crowd.

7. well you dont have to be a democrat or even LIKE democrats to recognize
that there is great value in the checks and balances system. It used to be-- long ago, before identity politics-- that people commonly voted for different parties for no other reason than "for balance." Now that we've seen the results of single party government (no accountability, unprecedented corruption and malfeasance) I would hope that at least some reasonable people would return to that way of thinking.....

9. huh?
How can Newt claim that the Democrats are "wrong" on implementation when they haven't implemented anything in years?

These idiots are running over themselves trying to cast Democrats as extremists while the GOP flys way out in right field. Does anybody actually give a crap what they have to say? I sure as hell don't.
