Even if the soldiers are acting under orders...
They can still be convicted and executed for war crimes if they knew what they were doing was morally wrong. The irony being, of course, that it was the United States that invented such a judicial policy at Nuremburg.

I would be curious to know how many soldiers are being held for desertion and/or treason for refusing to take part in actions like these, and whether they will ever be vindicated for their moral courage.

3. I believe that moral courage...
is thoroughly discouraged in today's "parrot-military". Imagine trying to prove that they knew what they were doing was morally wrong. They probably were told that it was just the opposite. Iraqi = Insurgent = Terrorist = Not fully human.

6. Which is exactly the same argument...
... shot down at Nuremburg. They should have known what they were doing was wrong no matter what they were being told, and the argument "We were only following orders" did not save them.
