Daily Look at U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq

As of Saturday, March 25, 2006, at least 2,322 members of the U.S. military have died since the beginning of the
Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The figure includes seven military civilians. At least 1,821 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.


The AP count is one lower than the Defense Department's tally, last updated Friday at 10 a.m. EST.

The British military has reported 103 deaths; Italy, 27; Ukraine, 18; Poland, 17; Bulgaria, 13; Spain, 11; Slovakia, Denmark three;
El Salvador, Estonia, Netherlands, Thailand, two each; and Hungary, Kazakhstan, Latvia, one death each.

1. I don't know if the guy's name is Fred Barnes, (I think it is) but he
was comparing the deaths to WWI and others and saying how much less the numbers are.... but the difference is, this was all unnecessary, and he was spouting about the spread of infectious democracy blah blah blah.... morans abound.

2. This is an excellent source for the casualties in Iraq.

There are news stories on the right. Often you can link to home/regional papers so that you can read about the casualties. It's so much more personal than just cold numbers. Using the drop down windows at the top of the site, you can find more specific statistics.
