"Apocalyptic Times" by Maureen Farrell/Buzzflash
"We are living in dangerously weird times now. Smart people just shrug and admit they're dazed and confused. The only ones left with any confidence at all are the New Dumb. It is the beginning of the end of our world as we knew it. Doom is the operative ethic."
-- Hunter S. Thompson, Nov. 20, 2000

the Messiah isn't coming to the Middle East . . . he'll be setting down right here in the lower Hudson Valley of New York State . . .

I got this house that I'll let you have for, oh, say ten million or so . . . I'll even be open to negotiation . . .

give a ring, Sweetie . . . :)

3. Her article does outline that foreboding...
Sentiment that "something's gone terribly wrong," that people have an instinctual, visceral sense of it, but often feel at a loss to articulate. You do get the sense that it's an out of control train with no one at the controls. The idea that enough people would or somehow could be conditioned into self-fulfilling prophecies is profoundly troubling. Are those in power using it to help orchestrate a New World Order, or, and no less horrifying, are they likewise guilty of ensuring prophetic doom?
