Randi had a great one yesterday re: Chimp's "blame the media" strategy

and his RW pundits (like Laura Ingraham's) ranting about how the media doesn't report the elusive "good news" going on in Iraq.

Well, Randi was riffing about how that would be like, during hurricane Katrina, reporting about all the nice weather happening concurrently in the US, like the sunshine in Arizona, or the warm gentle breezes in San Jose. etc., instead of the "bad" news in NOLA.

Of course she said it in a much funnier manner, going on and on, about how people should be complaining about all the nice weather that wasn't reported during Katrina, instead of all the awful images of people drowning and crying for help!

She had another grerat one on another subject, but DAMMIT- I can't remember!

4. Here's my analogy
Let's say you purchased a car for, say, $200 BILLION dollars. Would you tell your friends how wonderful it is that the doors lock? No, you'd damn well better EXPECT the doors to lock, and pretty much everything else to work ok. That's not news. What's news is when the oil leaks all over the place. (Unintended double-entendre!)
