Does CNN's Blitzer want Bush to Bomb Chile over the Cruise Passengers?
Those folks who died when their tour bus plunged over a clff in the Andes?

They actually went to their Condo Group in NJ and showed all their neighbors who were brought down with enormous grief...because those people had traveled with some of the "victims" to China and done the "Great Wall Thing" and they just couldn't deal with the loss.

Blitzer said there will be MOOOOOOOOOOOORE on "THE STORY" at 7:00 p.m.!

Now...I feel very sad for those senior citizens who died...and I sympathize with their children and grandchildren. But, should this story be hyped into an INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT...where SOMEONE HAS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE?

Bomb CHILE....SUE the Cruise Company.....HYPE IT! PUMP IT! The new missing blonde girl?

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

2. Look over here ....something shiney...
this is Rove taking a tradgedy and trying to spin it into some megastory...

Everyone knows that these countries don't have the best vehicle safety and driving records...it's a chance that's taken.

Spin, Spin, Spin Rovian style!!

3. Just another excuse not to cover real news.
I feel for those involved, but this is essentially what was once a local story. Now the airwaves are filled with crap that used to be only locally pertinent. Too many channels, not enough real news coverage.

4. You'd better be careful with that ...
... anytime the word "cruise" is capitalized, a whole lot of people get real agitated.

Not that they'd bump uglies with Katie Holmes or jump on Oprah's furniture or join cults (sorry, I mean unconventional religions) or anything like that.

5. Many libertarians and conservatives probably don't have much
of a problem about what happened in Chile. My understanding is the tour company operated outside of standard regulations. This is exactly what liberterians and conservatives want. No regs; everyone for themselves and everything will work itself out in the end. They may feel bad about what happened but the point is isn't the free market without those nasty regs just great. I can hear them now trying to explain it all. People will just stop using that company letting better companies come to the forefront. It's a cost worth it.:sarcasm:

6. I gave up CNN a long time ago and feel much better. The only time I
see it is when it is on at the gym or some waiting room. It is garbage.

9. Sounds like one of the following happened:
1. People got bored with the missing white girl in Aruba.

2. KKKarl Rove is trying to find a story that nobody cares about but it gets people off of talking about how fucked the Bush administration is.

3. Bored reporters.

10. Local interst story? NJ = Terrorist Suicide Bussers linked to Cruise Ship
:eyes: There was definitely a vengeful "bombs away" attitude coming from Blitzer, though...
