Stars & Stripes letter: "I don't like George W. Bush."
Edited on Wed Mar-22-06 02:25 PM by lebkuchen
Even those who think Bush did a good job on 9-11 are fed up. There are more like the letter below, here: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/12/18/45138/421

Reasons to dislike Bush

Regarding “Bush is right man for job” and “Proud to serve under Bush” (letters, March 14): Why did you say only Democrats have polls out? Both parties have the same poll out and I love to say that George Bush isn’t liked by more than 58 percent of citizens or more than half of the United States.

Letter writers have the right to say they like a certain person, but we also have the right to say we don’t like him. President Bush did a good job on Sept. 11, but he keeps bringing that up for every reason to invade a new country.

What is he doing for our country? Where was he when Katrina hit? All the money was gone because of this war. He isn’t helping the unemployed. He isn’t improving Medicare.

Why are elderly people having to make a choice to either buy their medicine or pay the rent? One word: Bush. He isn’t helping our country, which should come first.

That is why I don’t like George W. Bush.

Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany

2. Bush's comment about staying in Iraq past 2008 was heard in the gym today,
the base gym.

A handful of soldiers working out stopped to listen, and they were not happy with what they heard.

3. I would like to ask Lauren Ross what bush did on 9/11 that could be
characterized by calling it a 'good job'?

i can think of a world of things a president could have / should have done before, during and after 9/11 and bush has done virtually none of them.

a really 'good job' would have been reading the damn PDB, heeding the warnings and preventing it from happening.
a tolerable job would have been making the best of a bungled situation.
the worst fucking job in the world is what I see bush doing. he cares nothing for reality, just using anything to advance his neocon-pnac agenda for world domination, doing his best to scare the piss out of us, turn us against one another and rob us blind in the meantime.

5. I agree. He used it to trample our civil rights and told everyone to go
out and buy stuff and used it to start a war with Iraq. A failure on all accounts.

6. How many times did Bush mention 9/11 in Cleveland?
You'd think that most people would have figured out that 9/11 is Bush's ace-in-the-hole, played to his advantage when he sees fit. There's a reason why he keeps referring to that date. It's his stranglehold on a very naive public.

7. I know! He held a megaphone for a few minutes.
Maybe that's relatively good FOR HIM.

8. But... but... but... he gave a really good speech a few weeks later!
I'll never forget my brother-in-law the freep ask me back then "What do you think of Bush now?"

My response? "Great, the guy enunciated. Woo Hoo - our President can talk! Now, let's see what he can do."

Love to throw that conversation back in his face every chance I get!

11. He toured the country on 9/11!
When he should have flown straight to Washington he flew straight in the other direction. He was a COWARD in the TANG and he is a COWARD to this day! Cindy had him treed in Texas. He was scared to death of one little lady!

9. Bush has an obligation to represent ALL Americans, not just a select few
On this basis alone, he is a miserable failure. No child left behind? How about half of America forgotten?
