Did I really hear him say "You gotta understand. From my perch... From my position, the economy looks great."

The overall wording might not be verbatim, but I'm pretty sure I heard "perch" during a rebroadcast of excerpts of his boobery.

Perch. Like a dodo. Or maybe like a quail?

Anyone else catch that, or was I hearing things?

where nothing or no one can get to him, where he continues to fool himself or be fooled, where he can't hear the low moan of the suffering people outside the perch who are suffering in so many different ways.

What baffles me is that he clearly spelled out the whole problem of his Presidency: from his position everything looks fine. But who else has the luxury of being in his position (or on his perch)?

If the idiot were let out of his cage and forced to see the world, how long would it take for his head to explode?

Like from the porch of his ranch in Crawford. The view from there is so good, it even makes the economy look great.

All rich people's porches do that.
