1. mine's Janet Napolitano, she was 16th, I think
I already forgot haha. She's pretty popular down here in AZ. My home state Governor is Brian Schweitzer in MT. He's really popular. Ranked 6th on that list, I think.

6. she is solid
I like her a lot. Could be a little more progressive, imho, but she does well, especially for being in a solid Red state like AZ. Our Legislature has some of the most cartoonish nutjobs I have ever heard of, so she has her hands full just dealing with them. :)

3. Ernie Fletcher imported the culture of corruption
Edited on Wed Mar-22-06 06:47 AM by mandyky
from DC to KY. Just today in the news, he was asking the KY supreme court not to try people he had already pardoned. #47 - 33% just like his pal Gee Du(m)b

I am pretty sure KY will be a lot more purple and red in the next few elections.
We have a Dem Representative that replaced Fletcher (he was our Rep before Gov) but he is pretty conservative (Ben Chandler).

18. Strickland is our next governor
Amazing how they pile it on Taft when there's plenty of blame to go around in the Ohio House and Senate. Insurance companies, banks, nursing home business and other corporations have essentially been running Ohio for the last 12 years, but they've managed to shift all the blame to Taft. Lets hope all of Ohio GOP gets its clock cleaned in November.

Governor Strickland - I like the sound of that.

9. Wyoming's Freudenthal (D)

# State Name Party '04 ECV Approve Disapprove Net
6 Wyoming Freudenthal, Dave D Bush 68% 24% 44%

The interesting thing here to remember, is that a Wyoming Democrat is more conervative than a New York Republican. Seriously, Dave is doing a very good job, except for the blatant pandering to entrenched agriculture interests vis-a-vis wolf management/delisting, but then again, he wants a second term.

I can remember his name and how he is doing. Something like Romney rings a bell. He is away so often that forget all about him until some headline grabbing moment comes along, then he shows up to refresh my memory.

Mittens is running for President claiming a crossover appeal,
but he wouldn't test that appeal by running for reelection.

By the numbers:

40 Massachusetts Romney, Mitt R Kerry 42% 52% -10%

There are many inconsistencies in what he has said and what he has done. Must be a nationwide GOP trend.

20. I am fascinate with the red/blue support for opposite party governors
In the top ten, there are 4 blue govs of quite red states. One red gov of a blue state. Drop to the top twenty and you get 10 blue govs of states that are at least red enough to have gone for Shrub. In that mix, there are only 3 red govs of blue states. What is this telling us? Nothing?

21. some states really need our help
in MI, we're geared up against DeVos, a man who, while investing heavily in China, outsourced a ton of West Michigan jobs... not to mention he's a BILLIONAIRE!

I don't know what to do, but some of these states really need our help.

23. Same old s***, different day - Ol' Haley Barbour tobacco lobbyist
extraordinaire, has twice vetoed a bill that would raise taxes on cigarettes while decreasing taxes on food. Can't interfere with the rights of tobacco companies to make profits while killing citizens, can we? As for the Mississippi legislature, it is also covering itself with glory. In the face of the greatest catastrophe in the history of the country, the legislature has (naturally) turned its attention to taking away a woman's right to choose, grudgingly granting exceptions in cases where the mother's life is threatened.

27. Governor Good Hair is #34....
Apparently, he's still got 1% more in the "approval" column than in "disapproval."

The party twisted Kay Bailey Hutchison's arm so she'd stay in the Senate & not try for Governor. I'm still hoping that Carole Keeton Strayhorn gets on the ballot...

Yet she is loathe to travel outside of the Lansing or Detroit areas. Maybe if she actually tried she might win some support in the north. Hitting areas like an ATM doesn't count as "trying" BTW Jen.

30. I think these numbers are not accurate
She does need to counter DeVos' ads on tv, because he is basically blaming her for the Bush economy. He is claiming that as a businessman, he can fix Michigan's economy. The pyramid scheme he ran called Amway should be the theme in the ads-they changed the name to Alticor. That also should be mentioned-changing names doesn't change a company's fraudulent history, etc. Michigan voters outside of Grand Rapids are not Amway fans.
