Get the feeling that Bush is fed up of being President?
Looks like he's had it. Bet he wakes up every morning and sighs "Cheney, a fine mess you got me in, do I have to give another speech on Iraq. I just want to sleep and fish..... No it wasn't me that wanted the Iraq war it was you, Cheney. I never did really want to be like Daddy. Please let me go back to Crawford."

1. Within six months...
Of the end of his tenure, he and his family will be moved out of there and the spread will be up for sale.

Remember: you read it here first.

3. i honestly don't think he wanted to get re-elected
mind you, i don't think he wanted to "lose" or "quit", but i think kicking saddam's ass was the only reason he ever really wanted to be president. once saddam was captured, i don't think he gave a rat's ass about anything.

28. And now that he's got Saddam's pistol to show off, he's ready to kick back
I'll be interested to see what happens to that pistol. I remember reading here some time back that it would be illegal for him to keep it as a trophy . . . don't know if that's true, but I do know "illegal" never stops him, and he needs the pistol for his braggart pose.

8. He never should have run again. All he wants to do is be at the ranch,
take naps, play video games, ride his stupid bike. He hasn't "grown" 1/33rd of an inch in all the time he's been pResident. What a loser. If it weren't for his passionate, uninformed base he would be cutting brush right now.
Sigh.

9. Today's press session
was a clear indication that he has lost control or they have lost control of him. This self-deprecating aspect juxtaposed with aggressive barbs is very bad form. If he acts like that at home, what the hell is he doing overseas or with visiting dignitaries? He needs to stand in the corner for a long time-out--like the rest of this term.

13. Hes aged fifty years in six.
I think he loves the power , and he sees his power going away as his popularity plummets. He had a good game going until people started to see he was cheating to win. He is now a used up, has been, lowlife, no account, loser who got caught up in cheating to win. The numbers that really kill him are his trust numbers. Once they go down this far they will never rebound into respectable percentages again/

14. No. Can't say that I do get that feeling
He likes the power and what he can do with it - but he hates being questioned or second-quessed. He doesn't think anyone has that right.

Besides, he really does think he knows best.

Bush really does believe his every action is above reproach by anyone - and he only tolerates it from those he considers his equal.

"The people", Congress, and the Press are not among those he counts as equals.

true, though....I just don't get that feeling from the boy blunder
he never wanted the paperwork or the detail involved in being a leader - but the power and the benefits of power? He loves it.

35. I wouldn't doubt it...
He affects me as an inherently lazy guy. His pattern in life is just being handed opportunities--he's not accustomed to having to exert any effort to accomplish.

Someone like this, in my opinion would definitely be weary or running out of fizz as you put it.

He digs being the big chief in the opportunities it affords him, the power the ability to do anything in his mind. He dislikes and is probably more than sick of the responsibility that comes with it. He's not at all used to suffering the repercussions of his actions, as we've seen in his history. He seems to very much be the guy that relishes having fall guys and clean up crews--other people to deal with the aftermath.

As he's seeing that people are holding him accountable, it's merely pissing him off. He gets petulant when continually questioned, because he doesn't see that he's done anything wrong--and besides, it's not his job to clean up his own mess. Seriously. This is how he seems to think.

I really see his as tired of the gig. He may relish the power and glory, in the good times but dislikes and is sick of the other side of it--the hard work, the bad reviews, the questions and the responsibility and aftermath of what he's done.

It kind of tickles me to see him melting down before our eyes this way.

29. I have noticed this too.
It's been about the last 4 or 5 months I would guess. He talks like he's dead tired and sick of going through the motions. I don't know if he realizes how far he is in over his head or to what degree he has allowed the vile Vice President Dick to essentially run the country. Just how clueless is this doofus, anyway? Sheesh.

It's almost sad to hear how wistful he sounds talking about his beloved "ruggie". It belongs in the Oval Office. He doesn't.

39. This is such a good point...
I totally agree, wildeyed! He is competitive--he likes to win. I just don't think he knew what he was getting into. But he did seem to take pleasure in the whole thing. He also seemed to NEED to win. Like he had something to prove.

I remember during 2000, the recount and all of the mess that ensued. Everytime * was interviewed or asked for an opinion on the race, he was so calm and would say so arrogantly,"...I KNOW that I won Florida." That was when I knew the fix was in.

This is merely my belief, but I think behind the scenes Rove and Cheney assured him there would always be someone else to "deal with" things. They underestimated the backlash from everything...
