Jon Stewart to host Peabody Awards
Jon Stewart will host Peabody Awards
Mar 21, 2006, 8:20 GMT

NEW YORK, NY, United States (UPI) -- Fresh off his Academy Awards debut, 'Daily Show' fake news anchor Jon Stewart has been tapped to host the 65th Annual George Foster Peabody Awards.

The June 5 ceremony at New York`s Waldorf Astoria hotel will be more familiar territory for Stewart, who has two Peabody Awards for his Comedy Central news parody show on his mantle.

The winners of the Peabody Awards for original broadcast, cablecast and Web cast programs will be announced April 5 at the University of Georgia.

2. In honour of Billy O...
...they should introduce a new accolade - the O'Reilly Award for Biggest Embarrassment to Journalism.

Criteria for winning: lying, smearing innocent individuals, lying, blatant partisanship, lying, reducing poltical debate to the level of a grade-school playground fight, and lying.
