21. I agree - my thoughts while watching was that he was so defensive.
I would think that even those who still support him would become uncomfortable while watching him act like a two year old who got caught stealing out of the cookie jar and tries to blame others.

On some level his performance today must make everyone who still likes him feel very uneasy.

17. Because they are in constant campaign mode - they don't know HOW to govern
Funny, but Clinton could do both. But, he governed pretty well and didn't HAVE to be in campaign mode all the time.

20. It's like a real-life version of whack-a-mole
Bush pops up again and says the same old tired shit.

When will he learn .. it's deeds not words.
(oh and they need to be GOOD deeds)

22. Bush advisor: "You must get your poll numbers up, sir."
Bush: "Aw, geez, I'm so sick of hearin' about them poll numbers. I don't give a f*ck what the American people think."

Advisor: "Um, well...yeah...sir it is still important to the party. Lots of people running for re-relection this year, you know."

Bush: "Shit. So I gotta start doin' them speeches again? In public? And I suppose you'll be wantin' press conferences too. That Helen Thomas, my ass is still burnin' from the last time I came face to face with her."

Advisor: "Yes, sir, we'll need you and the Vice President to make the rounds, public appearances, uplifting and motivational speeches, the whole bit."

Bush: "Alright, but you gotta tell them speech writers to stop usin' so many danged big words. I cain't pronounce them and those sentences are just too long. And I want bigger type, I have a hard time keepin' the flow when the type is too small."

Advisor: "Sir, they're using really large type now. Any bigger and we'll have to make the pages larger."

Bush: "Fine, tell them to leave it be. I guess we just use the same message we've been using the past few years, then...terra...economy's growin'...lots of new jobs...progress in Iraq, stay the course, support the troops...that kind of bullshit?"

Advisor: "Yes sir, we need the messages to be positive and upbeat, and you must not appear flustered or lose your temper or patience with the media. It comes across very negatively on screen."

Bush: "F*ck that! Those SOBs have no business questioning me in the first place! I don't like being challenged. They will do as I tell them..."

Advisor: "Sir, I should remind you that we're not at that point, yet. The facilities are still being built for the dissidents. Until that time, you'll just have to play along."

Bush: "Yea, I know, the good Christian bullshit. Loving father, husband...what time is Jeff comin' over anyway? And where the hell is my drink? It's after 11:00 in the morning and I haven't had a drink since breakfast! Why don't you people do as you're told?!?!?!"

Just another typical conversation in the Oval Office at The White House.
Your government. Working hard for you.

:sarcasm:
