This is what George Bush's post-war Afghanistan looks like! Not freedom on the march. But freedom at a complete standstill.
In a court in Kabul, an Afghan man is being prosecuted and could very well be sentenced to death for coverting to Christianity.
Amazingly, this is the first trial of its kind in Afghanistan. But Bushie, I hear you saying, I thought we went into Afghanistan to liberate their people and help create a democracy?
And if Bushie were truthful and forthcoming, along would come the answer: Well, you see, that's what we were supposed to do, but we took our eyes off the people who attacked us on 9/11, and focused on the people who didn't attack us, and never threated to.
Abdul Rahman, 41 years old, was arrested last month when his family accused him of becoming a Christian, a crime under Afghanistan's Islamic laws.
The judge in the case, Ansarullah Mawlavezada, said that Rahman's actions are "an attack against Islam." He is expected to make a ruling within 2 months, on whether Rahman is sentenced to death.
