Lou Dobbs said Good-by to Lucia Newman - anyone know why?
He said she was leaving CNN. She was reporting from Cuba at the time, and had a strange look on her face - as if she were just hearing about her departure from CNN!!

There was no explanation and I can't find a link anywhere - even on CNN.com. Anyone know why she left and what she will be doing next?

BTW - I cheered loudly when I heard Lou say she was leaving. She could have been a real asset, reporting what life is like in Cuba. Instead, she occasionally made a report, only when she could knock the Cuban government.

Lucia Newman is leaving CNN, and we could not allow her to depart us without paying our respects and to salute a great and skillful, talented, bright colleague with whom we've had the pleasure to work over the past two decades.

Lucia Newman, you're a delight. We're wishing you all the very best and we thank you.

NEWMAN: Thank you very much Lou.

2. I've always thought very highly of Lucia Newman...
It seemed to me she gave very straight-forward news and information that other reporters would not report?

My guess is that she's just retiring.. She's not that young, and she's probably got money saved.. why not retire and enjoy the grandkids:)

4. I wouldn't be surprised if CNN wouldn't allow her to report what
the real story is in Cuba; have to toe that party line. I remember her primarily in Cuba for hurricane coverage. Perhaps they couldn't justify her salary. Right.

5. BushCo will supply news reports from Cuba from this point forward
And the taxpayers will fund the propaganda.
