Could some of them be waking up?? Like my dad said; "you can have the best trained dog in the world, but if you hit him on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper everyday, he's eventually going to bite you"

Maybe their tired of taking it up the "poop-shoot" from the Repukes.

As a fighting man in the military you should be insulted by how Nelson portrays himself on his website as an astronaut. There is a certain kind of courage that is necessary to be strapped into a controlled explosion and be propelled into orbit like they used to do with monkeys.

The fact is that Neilson dogged the Viet Nam war while he was serving in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1965 to 1971 which was the height of the brutal fighting and the deaths of our honored military heroes. Instead of standing shoulder to shoulder with his contemporaries in the Army, Neilson chose to attend Law School on government time and expense.

6. This DUer has always laughed his ass off at how ridiculous Freepers are.
Especially on this issue with almost the entire Administration dodging the draft in one manner or another.

2. A little more from this wing-nut
"the wings on his chest were not earned by him in pilot training as others did who served, fought, and were captured and spent six years as a POW in Vietnam. The wings Nelson wears, the blue astronaut jump suit cover the true Nelson who is an anti-war liberal who will not defend America against terrorism nor join in the spread of democracy through out the world.

Proof that Nelson will hide behind his liberal collegues when it comes to security of the United States is his opposition to wiretapping Al Qaeda members who communicate with their terrorist associates in the US."

8. It's got to be McCain
"the wings on his chest were not earned by him in pilot training as others did who served, fought, and were captured and spent six years as a POW in Vietnam."

Did Nelson bump McCain out of the astronaut program?

I didn't know McCain posted on FR.

9. Sure, and George W. Bush
Was bravely defending American airspace from a surprise Vietnamese air attack from Mexico, in the Texas National Guard. Our Glorious Leader even threw himself on a bunch of booze, drugs, and prostitutes to save our fighting boys for the war effort (he just gave all of himself for his country).
:sarcasm:

What was that about never questioning a man's National Guard service in the 2004 Theft?

10. Let's change a few words...
Bush avoided combat in Vietnam and like Clinton is weak on National Defense

As a fighting man in the military you should be insulted by how Bush portrays himself on his website as a pilot. There is a certain kind of courage that is necessary to be strapped into a flight suit and and be propelled onto an air craft carrier deck with a sign stating "Mission Accomplished" when the job is half done.

The fact is that Bush dogged the Viet Nam war while he was serving in the Texas Air National Guard from (fill in the dates -- dont know if the time he didnt show up really counts) which was the height of the brutal fighting and the deaths of our honored military heroes. Instead of standing shoulder to shoulder with his contemporaries in the Air Force, Bush chose to leave the service early to attend graduate business school.

12. Craven FReaks and moonbats who will sink to any low
to protect their Backward, head-over-heals, foward in reverse agenda.

The difference between Nelson and Bush is not that Bush would defend America, its that Bush is playing soldier when he doesn't know what soldiering is all about.

13. Yes
but all they need to do is produce an ad and pay $5 to put it on "Mom's Basement Tapes" public access show, and CNN, MSNBC, et al, will run it 24/7 and give it credence.

They have to have so little respect for the intelligence of the American people.

14. The idiots could save themselves the inevitable embarrassment
by taking a wee google from time to time:

Bill Nelson, Leading Senate Supporter of NASA: Bill Nelson is an avid supporter of the US space program. In 1986, he became the second member of Congress to travel into space when he served aboard the Columbia space shuttle for 7 days as payload specialist.

He has been intimately connected with NASA for YEARS, being somewhat involved with Cape Canaveral, IN HIS OWN STATE.
Bush Budget 'Starves' NASA, Florida Senator Bill Nelson Says
By Steven Siceloff

ORLANDO - Continued money problems and an inattentive White House are setting up NASA to fail, U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson said Monday at the second Florida Space Summit.

"You just can't continue to starve the American space agency of funds (without jeopardizing safety)," Nelson, D-Tallahassee, said, laying the blame at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. "I am very frustrated with the White House budget proposal on NASA."

But U.S. Rep. Dave Weldon, R-Palm Bay, said Nelson's position smacks of partisan politics.

The wide-ranging summit touched on civilian and military space issues, with key players from both sides represented. The discussions are integral to Florida's economic well-being. Florida's economy receives a $4 billion economic boost each year from space.
