Slow progress for US inquiry into why Bush took road to Iraq war

The Senate Intelligence Committee has moved toward completing its long- awaited investigation of the Bush administration's pre-war assertions about Iraq, with three of five sections nearly finished, the committee's chairman said Tuesday.

The more controversial second phase of the investigation was delayed until AFTER the 2004 presidential election. But little progress has been reported in the 18 months since the election.
Democrats have accused Roberts of whitewashing the inquiry, and orchestrated a shutdown of the Senate last November to protest the lack of progress. Republicans have accused Democrats of grandstanding for partisan gain.

With Bush troubles growing and his numbers tanking weekly, much doubt if this inquiry will be released before 2006 or possibly the 08 elections take place.
