A special thanks to president bush for $2.50 gas
Your clumsy saber rattling has cost me probably hundreds of dollars and your comments today added 20 cents a gallon to my misery. I'm already struggling to break even after bills and everything and I sure as hell can't contribute to the economy by being a good consumer. I can't for the life of me figure out why some repukes are all pissed off that the UAE is pulling out it's dollars that are helping prop up our economy but no mention of bush's stupidity driving up the cost of oil and hurting our economy. btw I'm sick to death of the stock market going up on news that oil is down and then going to the pump and seeing the price go up.

1. I wish it were only 2.50. The price I just paid in West Michigan was
$2.65 and that's for the cheap stuff.

6. It's 2.65 here in central Ohio, too.
I'm getting $10 an hour on a lousy temp job and driving 52 miles a day. It's already catching up with me big time. I can't afford a dinner out or movie.

2. if there is any glimmer of hope
it is that this is probably the reason his approval rating is sliding so much and will probably be the major reason for democrats possibly winning the house and senate in November--high gas and energy prices.

3. If you like $2.50 just wait for the summer
Too mild this winter. Oil companies didn't rake in enough off heat. Gotta make it up someplace.

5. Yeah I'm afraid to see what's in store this summer.
Especially if we see another wicked hurricane season. I'm betting we'll hit $5.00/gal. nationwide if that's the case.

10. My guess is that it will top out at $3.25 and if someone attacks an
Oil field well make it $4.00 and up.

18. I Think $5/gal Is A Near Certainty Before The End Of The Year

Hurricanes
Venezuela (poking with stick)
Nigeria (already poked)
Iraq Civil War spreading (poked w/ extreme prejudice)
Iran (mother of all pokes)
Dollar Collapse (China poking back?)

7. I agree. This summer is going to be unbelievable
I would say something BIG is going to happen with gas this summer, but the repubs might try to keep it under control for the elections. They won't be able to keep it from going over 3 dollars though. Maybe all those dumbasses driving half way across the city to get to Taco Bell on their lunch hour will re-think their driving habits. (Sorry if I offend anyone here, but seriously, if you are doing that, just think about all the gas you are wasting over the course of a year!)

4. This price gouging could have been stopped
by Bush and by congress..Yes and it could have been done with just a couple simple manuvers by both the President and by Congress..Lets go back to the 1960's when the steel companies were going to raise the price after they promised Kennedy they would'nt..Kennedy put a stop to that increase in a matter of days and no he did not put forth any price controls..The reason there is or was nothing done about these high energy prices is because the pockets of the Republicans and some Democrats are filled with dirty oil money.

17. Right. And it has nothing to do with Bush.
As much as I hate Bush, the Peak Oil issue much more important than bashing him.

People that harp on Bush about oil prices are just as bad as those that say there is no problem.

Peak oil is one of those things that shouldn't be politicized at all. It's too serious.

19. but my point was
gas went up 20 cents overnight and THAT is bush's fault. He's trying to bully Iran but all that will get us is sky high gas prices. At least that was the official reason I heard gas went up 20 cents overnight.

Allthough I agree the fundamentals dictate gas should go up over the long term unless we do something to change that.

15. My gas went up 20 cents over night as well a cuple of days ago.
All of the pumps at the nearest station were bagged except the premium. The clerk inside said she was told the pumps weren't working; she didn't know if they were out or inoperable. The next morning the price went up 20 for each grade, and the bags were all gone.

And people wonder why I'm suspicious.
