Harkin to co-sponsor censure!
http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Second_senator_sponsors_censure_resolution_0315.html

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) has become the first co-sponsor to Sen. Russ Feingold’s (D-Wis.) controversial resolution to censure President Bush for authorizing an allegedly illegal domestic surveillance program, ROLL CALL reports.

Excerpts:

"In a brief interview, Harkin said, “I think it makes sense. ... Quite frankly, I think we ought to have a full-fledged debate on this.”

"When asked if the president violated the Constitution by pressing ahead with the wiretapping effort, Harkin said, “Everything I’ve seen looks that way.”

"Feingold said that even though support for his resolution is low so far, he believes he is already meeting his goal of reopening the debate on the matter."

5. Howard Dean's petition in support of Feingold - Stop the Swiftboating
I guess Howard Dean doesn't agree with the spineless wing of the Dem Party. From an e-mail today, under the subject line "Russ Feingold is a traitor.":Send a message to Senator Allard: shame on him for questioning the patriotism of another Senator. Sign this petition and it will be delivered to Allard:

Agree or disagree with Russ Feingold's censure resolution, it is completely out of bounds to suggest that anyone demanding accountability is siding with terrorists. It is simply un-American to question the patriotism and loyalty of a Senator who wants the Congress to live up to its responsibility.

6. While you are on Sen. Kennedy's site asking him to support Feingold's
Censure proposal, please sign Kennedy's petition"

Dear Friends:

Over the past ten years, Members of Congress have raised their own pay by $31,000, but the minimum wage hasn't gone up a cent. It's still just $5.15 - $10,700 a year for a full-time worker. No one can live on that. It's more than $6,000 below the poverty line for a family of three. In the wealthiest country on the face of the earth, no one who works for a living should have to live in poverty.

That's why I've fought time and again to increase the minimum wage. Yet, time and again, Republicans in Congress have refused to give hard-working men and women the pay they deserve...

10. Horray for Harkin
He and Feingold were both buddies of Paul Wellstone, and are cut from similar cloth -- Real Democrats. What a concept!

13. Perhaps...
... where one will not fear to tread, others may follow.

Reminds me of a junior high school dance, where everyone waits for the couple with the most guts, and then the dance floor fills up.

One can only hope.
