Republicans have inserted language into the budget bill that would allow drilling in the Alaska wildlife refuge, RAW STORY has learned. The move would make the matter immune to filibuster, requiring only a simple majority to pass.

Debate on a challenge to the Amendment, lead by Senators Cantwell and Kerry, is expected in the Senate at 5pm EST.
