....I'm not going to lose any sleep for him. In some cases (and this would be one of them) I support the death penalty. I hope he rots in hell for abducting, raping, and murdering a defenseless girl.

it is monsters like this that makes it difficult to maintain my anti-death penalty stance. But I still wish he would be incarcerated the rest of his life, if only so that he can be studied to find out why he turned out to be a monster. Who knows-perhaps doctors can use any information they find to keep someone else from becoming a monster like this.

2. Having the man who murdered my family member killed in my name

would have made the whole thing far, far worse.

Yes, I was angry. However, I wanted him to be locked up so he couldn't do it any more. He was suspected in three other murders in that town, but it was never proven.

Having the state murder the murderers doesn't do anyone any good. Vicarious revenge is base and unworthy. I didn't want that man killed because of who I am, not because of who he was.

I got my wish. He died in prison.
