Keith Olbermann is about to come on Al Franken's show
Playing a clip of KO making fun of O'Reilly right now.

Oh this is going to be fun, lots of beatdowns. Last two people I would want to mess with would be Al and KO. Seriously, Bill, don't start stuff with guys who pretty much make fun of others for a living. (part of their living anyway, the rest of the time they actually report "real" news)

Fox Security, Hannity and Colmes come to your house!

6. He SHOULD Be Milking It
He should be getting the bully pulpit on this and the only way he can is to get out there and do it. And. . . . .O'Reilly deserves it.

39. Murdoch-Fox is 24/7 campaign vehicle for BushCo elections, issues
just a few samples:

http://www.moderateindependent.com/v1i15freeads.htm

snip: November 30, 2003 – Look at this quote from FOX News:

"Defeating President Bush in 2004 has become a central focus in the life of billionaire George Soros (search), and he's ready to put his money where his mouth is. Soros has pledged $15 million of his personal wealth to activists working to undo Bush's presidency...

All this activity has opponents crying foul over what has become a new post-campaign finance reform phenomenon: larger-than-life fat cats and celebrities giving to outside interest groups millions in unregulated soft money in an effort to keep Bush from another four years in the White House.

"These are the same people who were screaming for campaign finance reform," said Hollywood Republican activist Lionel Chetwynd. "I would like to compete with the likes of Mr. Soros and Mr. Lear, but frankly, I'm just not rich enough."

Republican political consultant Craig Shirley said Democratic special interests are taking independent fund-raising operations "to where no liberal hack has gone before."

http://www.newhumanist.com/buyout.html
snip: "Murdoch is reported to have spent $10 million in lobbying from 1999 to 2002, and gave lavishly to political campaigns, more than $1.7 million in the 2000 and 2002 election cycles. That outreach was in the context of Murdoch's own emergence as a major force in the right-wing ideological regency, with his New York Post a persistent pro-Bush voice in the country's most influential media market and Fox News -- the top cable news channel -- the most faithful TV megaphone for conservative opinion and commentary."

41. nevermind
I got it. It initially slipped my mind, so I looked into it and found exactly what it was from Keith's blog. I just forgot Lloyd Grove was the one who wrote all of that. I was thinking it was the woman, the one that is his assistant. My bad.

Keith just said the only person possibly guilty of harrassment is O'Reilly.

edit: AL was on Letterman last night.

Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 12:48 PM by CottonBear
Keith somehow compared Bill to Ted Baxter but said that Ted Baxter was a better broadcaster!
"When you are a failure for 25 years then find an audience and success then a Napoleonic tendancy comes out..."
(Keith and O'Reilly were in the same local TV market and Keith beat him in the ratings.)
"Any one who gets confused between a loofa and a falafel has problems..."

30. rimshot
:)

That guy, trying to keep track of his lies would be a news genre in and of itself. Honestly, I get embarassed if I slightly exaggerate anything that I've done. Even if I don't get caught at it. And, truthfully, we all kind of do it a little, it's just a natural thing to put yourself in a good light. I have never met anybody who is absolutely, totally humble about every single thing they have ever done or whatever. Most people are reasonably humble, but we like others to like us and think we are good at whatever we do and so on. Nothing wrong with that. Even if somebody is a total braggart, if they can back it up, well, so be it. But, Falafel Bill is just a total bullshitter. Whether he's a humble everyman watching Joe Sixpack's back for them, a national punting champion, a combat vet, or a two-time Peabody Award winner, Falafel Bill is always creeping closer and closer to the cuckoo's nest. Something is legitimitely wrong with the guy. Whether mommy and daddy didn't hug him enough when he was little or whatever, that guy is insecure to the point of mental problems.

26. Before Air America became a reality,
I watched/listened to Al Franken every chance I got. I wrote letters, made 'phone calls, did everything I could to support the project, to the point where I almost felt I had a proprietary interest, an avuncular ownership, in AAR.
I still feel pride and enthusiasm for them, but I have come to the conclusion that I just don't like Al Franken.
Perhaps he just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe it's his humor. I can't quite pinpoint the source but I don't like him. Consequently, I rarely listen. I hope he wins his election, allowing someone else to take over his slot at AAR.
K.O. Rocks, however!

Had to be a better way to say that. :)

I would have changed it right away, but nobody said anything, and it kept messing with my AAR stream every time I posted or replied.

Still, you do have a sick mind. I like that.
